Just what we needed a good hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. Visiting friends in the locality we needed somewhere to eat our head. The Unicorn is just right. Not flash, but a good pub and nice room which is really comfortable. Recommend it to anyone looking to stay in a really nice little town. Reception was...

I have no idea what the other reviews on here are on about - it is a lovely inn with all you could need and ask for. Clean, well presented rooms that are cosy yet modern. I had a shower ensuite but no bath, but that was fine. If you need early nights it might not be the best place...

Visited for Sunday Lunch with family . Old fashioned pub with A welcoming atmosphere .Food excellent with a good choice if menu and could not be faulted in any way .The staff were really pleasant and friendly .obviously a popular place for lunch as busy in the dining room . A 3 night perfect stay at the unicorn, shaun and all the staff were very welcoming and pleasant, and are very customer focused. We would love to visit again sometime (if we are allowed! 😉) somerton is a really old clean and interesting place, food at the unicorn was well priced and very generous cooked to order food. I can only rate this based on the food and bar atmosphere. We arrived on a busy friendly Friday evening unbeknown to us in time for the meat raffle draw...all supplied by a local butcher. Meeting up with local friends for a birthday drink we stayed for a bite to eat. Wish I had taken a photo. The portions served...

Typical pub meal menu, but redeemed by well cooked large portions. Tried to return the following evening but didn't book early enough, and it was full. If they had opened the bottle of wine at the table they would have avoided opening one not ordered, and having to open another.

The Unicorn is a pub/hotel in the heart of Somerton. Our room was smallish but quite comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful and very friendly and the breakfast gargantuan and extremely tasty ! All very reasonably priced

I’m really confused by these reviews……and annoyed that I booked on the strength of the 5 star ones! This was by far one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. If the ‘olde worlde charm’ other reviewers refer to means the peach coloured 1970s bathroom suite with corner bath, then that’s fine but while I don’t have a particular...

Welcoming log fire and solid pub grub. Tribute beer on draft. Just the place for a cold winter lunch time. I had the creamed mushrooms followed by chicken curry. My companion enjoyed fish and chips followed by a sticky dessert. All good solid value grub. Staff friendly and welcoming too. Worth 3.5 stars.

“Book the hotel down the road!”
  • Tiny olde worlde door with green safety light above it which lights up the room all night.
  • Corner bath
  • Nub end of soap kindly left by previous unfortunate inhabitant.
  • Mouldy skylight
  • Shabby bathroom chair complete with last unfortunate inhabitant's used towel!
