The floors where filthy, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast club As a family of 4 only one device could use the WiFi code! Don't get mixed up by travelodge on southbound (opposite side of the road). Checking in before dark, the carpark had potholes everywhere and very bad lighting outside. The beds where comfortable
Good value for money. Comfortable rooms with minimal noise. Accessible room lacked a wet room and bath was not suitable for my elderly mother. Be very careful entering and exiting onto fast busy road!!
Stayed just before Christmas for a Christmas party, Fantastic stay, taxi was quick and safe. Starbucks next door for your morning coffee. Lovely nightstaff when I came back after a long night out. I hope I didn't annoy them too much. Rooms warm, welcoming and clean.
clean comfortable hotel welcoming and helpful staff, very good value for money, can hear the cars with it being so close to a road so if you're a light sleeper probably ask for a back facing room but we're all heavy sleepers so we were all fine. Even being one of the coldest nights of the year the room was lovely and warm.
I was looking for somewhere cheap and perfectly located for a stopover during a long drive. Which this absolutely was. My only issue with a Travelodge, and I’ve stayed at a few, is always the terrible pillows.
Great for a pit stop but it's terribly tired. Room was damp, extractor in bathroom not working and the drains/pipes had an odd aroma. Beds ok, bedding clean, had everything we needed but I didn't want to walk barefoot on the carpet. Staff were all friendly.
I was a bit concerned about staying here after reading some of the recent comments however I was pleasantly surprised. Although I get the comments as the place is a bit run down if your just using it as a sleep spot it’s perfectly fine. We stayed two nights & staff were friendly. We had a family room which was at the back so not near the road so we heard no noise. It was so cheap £82 which was including £6 for WiFi in the school holidays so really can’t grumble. Good little star bucks right next door too!
The building is clean on the surface, looking deeper, everywhere is a bit tired and dated, marked walls, threadbare carpets, thin quilt and the pillows could do with replacing. For the price though, you get value for money. I’d like to see it updated without the prices raising too much. I use Travelodge a lot and have started to realise taking your own blanket when it’s cold (and you don’t want to use the heater unnecessarily) is fast becoming the norm. Considering how busy the A38 is, there isn’t too much noise in the room, but please can someone sort out sat nav postcodes on the website. Rarely are they correct, which you can work around, but this particular one there’s a north and south bound hotel. I followed sat nav postcode to northbound and pulled up at southbound, which is a couple of miles away. …
Served its purpose as a bed to sleep in en-route. Noisy location but our room was at the back so less road noise. Internally quite noisy from other rooms, doors banging etc. Beds and towels were clean and water was hot. But room very tatty, carpet faded and stained. No ventilation in bathroom so ceiling and walls had large patches of black damp and mould.
The room and especially the bedding felt damp and the room stank of bleach. Carpet was bleached under the window and needed the window open on cold nights to combat the bleach smell. The black had loads of black like coming out of the tap, and the TV signal was almost non existent, making TV a non option.
