Would highly recommend a visit! Absolutely brilliant service, wide range of amazing drinks and the food was delicious! We went with a group of friends and we all loved it! Would definitely recommend to everyone. If you want that lovely pub feel in the bar side (which is also dog friendly) or have some luxury on the louge/restaurant side, there's something for everyone.
The room in the B&B was immensely small for $80/night ... and not the greatest decor (no desk to work in), and it was very very cold when i got to the room). it was a good nights sleep tho in a quiet village. the pub below had good food, and overall it was ok , but just ok
Excellent Sunday Lunch we had the sharing board of 3 meats. The portions are very generous and the quality of the food was first class. You get mash as well as roast potatoes, plenty of wonderfully cooked vegetables and very generous gravy. The puddings are delicious too.
Do not agree with previous reviews booked two rooms for one night welcome was lukewarm rooms small and one cold the free breakfast consisted of a box with orange juice a muffin and cereal bars the muffins had mould on them and orange juice was out of date when I told them they said they would change them but didn’t seem bothered and no apology just said they would change it.
Nice clean comfy room, friendly staff, lovely food, tried Dan's chicken Jalfrezi was very tasty, and a nice fry up in the morning. Pub is in a lovely picturesque villiage, would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Very rarely leave reviews but our meal here last night was really superb - scallops & steak and mushroom crepe & cod all cooked perfectly in welcoming surroundings. Well spaced tables, good cool beer on tap - superb - restaurant was full - advise booking! We’ll be returning very soon. Thank you!
This was recommended to me by a friend from the area, as I was visiting my hometown for a meal out with my best mate . It had been recommended as it has excellent vegan options and it didn’t disappoint. There was at least 4 vegan main meal choices ( possibly 5 I think including the specials ), there was also 2 vegan dessert options, which definitely makes a nice change!! I had the beyond meat burger with gorgeous rosemary fries & slaw (I loved the slaw!), it was all delicious. I then had the vegan sticky toffee pudding with vegan ice cream. My non vegan mate enjoyed her meal too
The meal was a long time coming and when it did arrive it was not that hot. The lamb in the curry was very gristly and the salad with the Kebabs consisted mostly of onions which my wife cannot eat. Certainly not value for money.
Incredibly impressed by the quality of food and service from Naomi. Typically we visit Barton-under-Needwood and will pop in for a drink whilst walking around the area. Being moderately local we've done this pretty frequently since August and made the most of local businesses and restaurants... Tonight however was our first experience of food and service. Everything about tonight was spectacular. Having booked a table for 4 late in the day, and was incredibly well accommodated with the preemptive lockdown it very much felt like a last supper. Food was amazing and incredibly impressive aswell as service from Naomi and the rest of the team, who whilst we recognise don't know everyone's name (yet) A huge thank you too all who work there and hope everyone has a safe and happy lockdown 2.0 ✌️…
This was a two night stay as it is close to the National Memorial Arboretum where we wished to visit. First impressions weren’t good as the pub was shut when we arrived at 3.30pm and we couldn’t make anyone hear. A quick stroll around the village found us back by 4.00pm and the main door was open. We were quickly shown to our room, accessed via an external door. Cosy, clean and basic but lacking the finer details I.e. loose toilet seat, one of the two ceiling down lights missing. No where to hang the bath towels after use. The major surprise was quality of the food in the evening, it was superb, as was the cooked breakfast the next day. This was exactly the same the next day. If you are looking for 5 star accommodation this is not for you but if you can accept 3 star accommodation for the enjoyment of 5 star food, make a booking.…
