Everything was good apart from the main road signage was so poor that we missed the entrance and had a long journey to get back there again (dual carriage way). This has been the same for over a year now and will lead to a bad accident one day..!!
This is a functional and cheap Travelodge but it needs updating. 1) No fully accessible rooms with walk in shower facilities (shameful). 2) No full breakfast options (continental style breakfast box only). 3) Very poor water pressure on showers. 4) Shower /sink soap dispensers are not kept filled and no options to buy from vending machine.
Met up with old work colleagues and just required somewhere to get our heads down after afternoon drink and evening meal at recommended restuarant/bar.Very convenient location for our purpose and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
I normally stay at Northbound but Southbound was much cheaper. The hotel itself is basic which a car is needed if you need anything food etc, but at the desk a vast options of takeaways and places to eat if you ask the staff. The rooms are spotless but dated, but the price I paid it's really not an issue as I'm here for business, bed and a shower. The staff at this hotel is what makes it a cut above the rest! Thankyou Travelodge for another fantastic stay!
I used to spend up to 42 nights a year in UK budget hotels, visiting city and sea, visiting family and prior to flying. I have eliminated most of that now as only occasionally can you get a budget price in a budget hotel. Travelodge is probably the best available but is normally the same price for a week as I can get a3 week holiday with flight and food in good hotel for winter sun on the continent.
No shower gel in 3 of our 5 rooms No soap in hand dispensers Both were empty! Told someone at reception who couldn’t care less.. No cups in 1 room to have tea or coffee Duvet was wafer thin, room wasn’t warm or clean… Poorly maintained hotel, never staying at a Travelodge ever again!!
Very hard mattress and only one thin pillow each. Only provided with one towel for a room with two. Did what was needed for visiting family and a place to stay for couple nights. Service team was friendly though.
It’s a Travelodge! It’s on the A38! Expectations were low but the experience was great. Just needed a bed for the night pre/post work Xmas do and this server the purpose very well, but with the addition of really lovely, friendly staff. Rooms are a little tired but so was I so who cares - had a great night’s sleep.
Booked this hotel for two nights with my Husband and Daughter. First impression was dingy. Walked into reception which was filthy dirty and had a terrible smell of damp and sweat. The gentleman on reception wasn't friendly. Once we entered our room the smell got worse, the room had clearly not been cleaned properly(if at all)the carpet was full of stains and had definitely not been hoovered for a long time. It was disgusting and will certainly need a trip from health and safety. We didn't even put our bags down and left. We spoke to the receptionist who was extremely unhelpful. We are now in the process of trying to get our money back but with not much look. AVOID
Dirty smelly disgusting disgraceful hotel, unhelpful reception staff. I've never seen a hotel reception or room in this disgusting condition, I asked for a refund but was told by reception he couldn't do anything but to fill in form online which I did, customer care did get in touch with me eventually but only offered £45.99 for the first night but it should have been a total refund for both nights £160.88 DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THIS HOTEL IT IS A TOTAL MESS & DISGUSTING. I will never ever stay in a Travelodge again.
