Cancelled our booking as a contractor wants the rooms even though the rooms had been booked and paid for months ago. Didn't even explain this in initial contact just sent an email through saying they had received MY request to cancel. Shoddy and unprofessional won't be using them again in the future as obviously they will happily cancel you if they can get more money elsewhere (looks like this is common from the other reviews on here)
We were really pleased to find a hotel so reasonably priced and so close to Burton town centre. And this Ibis Budget Hotel was way beyond our expectations. The family room was spacious with a big, comfortable bed. We were delighted to find the hotel has a lift … and the young man on overnight reception (Bill) was really pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Cancelled my trip this morning ! 5 days before visit ! Wasn’t even interested or apologetic on phone when I asked why ! Like they didn’t know they’d be closing for Maintenance before now !! Now I can’t book another place as gotta wait 2-12 days for my refund !!
Staff were friendly and very helpful. I was late for an event so had to drop my stuff and get ready quickly so didn't pay any attention to the single bed I was going to be sleeping in (family room). Came back after midnight from the event and sat on the bed to find that it was a box bedframe with no mattress, just a duvet folded up under bed sheets. It was the most uncomfortable night's sleep of my life and I go camping several times a year and sleep in a hard camp bed. This was much worse. The next day I was in a lot of pain and completely exhausted. Another friend was staying at the hotel on another floor and also had a single bed, but hers had a mattress. So I don't know what on earth happened to the room I was sleeping in.
We stayed for one night. We nearly didn’t book because of negative reviews regarding parking. However, there was no issue whatsoever with parking. We paid £3 for 24 hours. What’s to moan about??? Rooms are basic and clean. Breakfast buffet had a varied selection of food including crumpets, pancakes, ham and cheese alongside the usual cooked breakfast fayre. Staff are warm and friendly. This goes a long way when staying in a hotel. We will definitely stay here again when we’re in the area next.
Minimal Hotel. Staff very helpful in the breakfast area and reception they make this hotel. Stayed for 2 nights for business and had work to do after work each evening, I checked wifi prior to booking. Was told free and in every room it was NON existent even in the reception so this was a huge let down for me!! Had breakfast both days and for £9.25 was good value cooked nice and very clean area. Plenty of choice. Room very basic but you get what you pay for £62 would I stay again probably not.
A good stay and convenient location. Stayed for one night with work in October 2022. Parking was free if you’re left by 8am. The hotel is right next to the train station, and there are many pubs within walking distance. The Weighbridge (actually within in the car park) is well worth a visit. The room was clean, bed comfortable and shower powerful. Tea and coffee making facilities. My only moan would be that when we checked in and asked about breakfast, we said we needed to be left by 8am but were told we couldn’t have breakfast any earlier than 8am (it was a Saturday so fair dos). When checking out the next morning, a different lady said ‘you should’ve said and we’d have catered for you earlier’.
We liked the fact it was a central location as on the Friday night when we arrived we wanted to be within walking distance of the town for pubs and an Indian. We were at a wedding the 2nd day and was close to The Brewery where it was being held. The parking was great just £3.00 a day and plenty of spaces. It is an old converted building which we liked. Also, a special shout out to Claire on reception. She was great, very friendly and helped us out with a room we had booked for friends on the Saturday as they required an earlier check in to get ready for the wedding. She was so helpful throughout our stay. Also, the lady on breakfast each day was lovely - apologies I didn't get her name. Lovely stay. We were concerned it said budget but don't let that put you off as it has everything you need with great staff to make you feel welcome. Also, the bed was really comfy we both slept well. We would stay again if ever in the area.…
We stayed on a Saturday night and weren’t expecting much from budget hotel but this little hotel was fabulous. Room clean and tidy and had a fan in which was needed. Shower was very good too. We paid for breakfast which was a really extensive selection. What really made hotel though was the staff- really lovely and helpful. Donna was just fab she helped us get a taxi and then couldn’t do enough at breakfast. Really great experience and will definitely be back for Ibis budget again!
Stayed 1 night 2 adults 3 teenagers in 1 family room and 1 double room (2 rooms) both very big en suite rooms lovely n comfy very clean n right in town centre .phoned couple days earlier see if we could check in very early without going to rooms (going festival for day) was no problem at all ....reception staff very friendly and made sure we paid for car park out front as not part of hotel only £3 24hrs....would definitely recommend and stay again if in burton ..
