Very dark and unwelcoming on arrival. My husband and daughter still call it the murder house because that's what it looked like in the dark and not much better in the morning. We stayed as an overnight stop for Alton Towers. We arrived about 10pm no-one else about in hotel. Room smelled of damp, heating was not on even though...

Rooms were dirty and dated debris underneath the bed. Cups were dirty even had a hair in one and it wasn't from someone's head( disgusting) bed was uncomfortable and they were under staffed although member of staff on duty was friendly enough. Wouldn't go back and certainly would not recommend to anyone

The only downside was not having breakfast available and no dining room but there are pubs and a cafe just down the road for evening meals and breakfast so they survived. Not given it full marks...

It's not everyday your greeted by basil faulty at reception. Where to begin? Firstly on arrival to the hotel I wasn't sure I had the correct post code as I thought I was pulling up to an opium den. Secondly when I got in my room I had to put 20p in the meter just for the light to come...

I guess you get what you pay for. The room hadn't been cleaned properly and I would an old sandwich and a biscuit lying around. Shower didn't work properly and no breakfast. Really don't know how places like this stay in business.

I don't know about the other reviews on this page but I thought you get what you pay for and £56 for a room for three which was clean and comfy I can't really complain. Staff were friendly and location is good for cannock chase woods and Rugeley town. Stayed here just last week. Richard

I have attended weddings and different functions here in the past and was interested in holding a dinner dance here next year. The car park was full of leaves and rubbish not a good start surely somebody could pick up the rubbish. Walked into reception and found a slightly delapidated look to the whole place. The receptionists chair was falling...
