This was, without doubt, the best Sunday lunch we have ever tasted.Superbly cooked, well presented self service and plenty of it.Well done as we have called many times. Sadly the environment is lacking a cheerful air and has nothing to encourage a prolonged visit, one might say dark and depressive. The meal was superb but just lacks that something hotel wise.

Room ok- overlooked main road but not too noisy. Dog friendly- no extra charge. Bar and food available but food expensive for what looked like poor-average pub grub. No real ale. Decided to go to the a Red Lion up the road-not much better but a bit cheaper for food... Average-poor pub grub but served real ale. The hotel is...

I have never stayed in a more grotty hotel than this from the damp to the out of date milk and biscuits in the room! The staff were rude when confronted about this as if it was funny and the asking price for the rooms is extortionate would not recommend this to my worst enemy, mouldy broken shower, dirty carpets...

Me and my Fiancée thought we would try out the carvery here, and we were not disappointed. It was the best carvery we have ever had! Everything tasted fresh and home made and all for only £4.95. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely come back for another carvery again.

I would imagine that this hotel was once a beautiful hotel, however the passage of time hasn't been kind to it, shower didn't work in my room and the TV was intermittent, the bar area looks very tired with ripped seating etc, probably would have given a 1* review but the lady behind reception (and behind the bar and serving...

It wasn't properly celaned, carpet was thick with dust, furniture about 30years old and probably hadn't been cleaned since. The towels thin,...

This hotel could be a great place to stay. The exterior has some beautiful features and there are some antique features within. However, some issues: Shower didn't work Smells of smoke throughout Dirty bathroom Hotel staff woke me up very early to ask me for more money Dilapidated interior Nonetheless, I wish the hotel staff all the best in trying...

Eat Sunday lunch here on a regular basis. For the price the quality and the friendly staff, it can't be beat. It is not the greatest food ever, but for £5.00 a head your not going to get "Bistro Type" food, but what you will get is a decent lunch at very affordable prices. Give it a go if you...
