Not excellent but Tripadvisor chose that rating even though I selected 4 rather than 5 stars and then doesn't allow me to change it !! We stayed here last week in the garden room which was larger than average. A modern bathroom and vintage English bedroom. It had a pretty view over the garden and stream. It is a very...

This was our second visit to The Howard Arms, again whilst we were on a short break in Ilmington. We had a lively table in the main restaurant which is a lovely room with old paintings and rugs - almost like someone's front room. A bottle of the Rioja which was very nice. We both chose a starter and main....

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely country inn and had a great time. This is a place that gets most things right. The Village Room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable with a very good bed. Breakfast was very good with fresh orange juice and gluten free bread if required. The beer is well kept and the meal...

12 sat down for Sunday lunch 1.30pm. Despite the restaurant being full, the service, food and ambiance was excellent. One member commented 'best Sunday lunch that eaten for a very long time'. All meats/liver cooked to all individual's specifications and served with a smile. Congratulations to the back room staff. Only comment on a personal basis, was that starter portions...

Had the pleasure of having lunch at The Howard Arms last Saturday with friends. Attentive staff, pleasant ambiance and an exquisite standard of cuisine. Our first visit but it will certainly not be our last!

We had a great meal here. They were very accommodating as we decided very last minute we fancied Sunday lunch out. The food was really excellent and the service was friendly and just the right speed to allow you to enjoy the three courses. Even better they allowed dogs in the bar area. Will definitely be going back.

Visited many times over the years recently been twice, once for a special birthday celebration. All staff were helpful and helped make the event a success. Food generally really good, one of the desserts on the occasion of the birthday left some thing to be desired a few of us didn't finish it... but it was passionfruit brule so a...

My wife and I enjoyed a midweek evening meal at this traditional country pub/restaurant in the Cotswolds. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very tasty at reasonable prices. We decided to have a main course and dessert and were disappointed that complementary warm bread and butter were not given (worth considering landlord). The pub was very...

Thank you to Rob and his team for the most incredible weekend getaway. We took over the four bedrooms in the annex for the weekend, a proper little excape. A great weekend spent catching up with friends over exceptional food. Not one complaint or grumble about the weekend. The staff were great - going that extra mile. On the Sunday...

We stayed in the Cotswold room the first night and the Garden roon the second night. Both were superb, spacious and very clean. Cleaning staff were lovely and arranged their schedule so we could switch straight from one room to the other without delay. The breakfasts were generous, perfectly cooked and great coffee too. We had an evening meal each...
