We're planning to relocate to the Shipston area so we're currently doing some research into the local hostelries. Yesterday we visited The Black Horse - a beautiful traditional pub with an authentic feel. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome on arrival by the landlord. Lots of local ales on offer. A roaring fire. Very nice people who appeared to...

Once again to the Black Horse in Shipston on Stour. Quaint local pub, greet staff Good real ale on tap ,but the peace de resistance the Thai restaurant, small always very busy, must book at weekends as too many people have cotton on to how good it is. All piping hot food with spices to die for and presentation brilliant not too...

Dined here on a recommendation and was not disappointed. What looks like a typical thatched roofed country pub (it is!) just off a main road through Shipston on Stour. A warm welcome from the gentleman behind the bar we found our selves directed in to the cosy Thai restaurant attached. The food and service was outstanding. The menu just right...

Superb Thai meal in a lovely thatched pub with great ales. Quirky but couldn't rate highly enough! Staff were impeccable and friendly, dogs are allowed and both the food and real ales were lovely. Really didn't expect this bizarre combination to work but it did! We will be back.

What 'Baggie' does best !! Taken a wonderful old pub, off the beaten track and turned it into something of character. Wonderful choice of proper beer and the Thai Restaurant if you want something different, is well worth a visit; enjoy !

My partner and I spent the weekend in Shipton on Stour, at the George hotel, and went for a stroll around the town on the Friday afternoon. After stumbling over the Black Horse (its not the easiest of places to find) we were delighted to find an authentuic 'olde worlde inn' with a good selection of real ales, a real...

Found ourselves in the area on Friday evening without a booking. Lovely staff soon accommodated us and the food was excellent quality. Really enjoyed our 2 course Thai buffet for £15.95 a head in this quaint little pub with lovely atmosphere.

What can I say! So glad we have discovered this place. The food was fantastic. Beautifully cooked, succulent and tender meat, sauces full of flavour and spices without being overpowering or stuffed with msg. Service was spot on. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. All in all - fab! We'll be back!

Called for Saturday lunch for a drink and decided to stop for their Thai lunch. The pub itself is quaint and old with a good selection of beers and wines, the staff went out of their way to be friendly. The thai meal itself was second to none although you could have the special lunch of starter and a main...
