Great room with a high class finish and very clean. The room had plenty of coffee and tea with high class shampoo and soap. The restaurant has a good selection of food and wine and our meal was top notch. The breakfast has has a good selection of item and the full English was first class.

We had a wonderful nights stay here. Evening meal and breakfast. Nothing to fault. Bed was really comfortable, shower hot, owners friendly and welcoming. We were given great advice where to go visit. Lovely stay. Thank you.

I'd heard of the Chequers from sources at work and so having to arrange an overnight quickly I booked in for a night - I only wish that we could have spent longer there! We arrived on one of the stormiest nights of the year and it was so nice to be welcomed by a blast of warmth emanating from... More

We booked this hotel for its location, reasonable price and the fact that we needed something quiet and comfortable for a small group of family and friends to stay whilst we attended my father's funeral. I contacted the owner direct, he offered an even better rate than expected, was friendly efficient and helpful. When we arrived, we were not disappointed.... More

A recent stay in the area, a return for us with new owners John and Lisette. There are many new and interesting features all tastefully and carefully thought of and all for the comfort of their guests. We have just returned for our stay relaxed and incredibly well fed and cared for. Friends and family joined with us during our... More

I stayed here recently for one evening while on business in the area. This is a lovely old hotel based around an original building dating from the 16th century. The hotel is on a little side street off one of the main roads going through the village (opposite the church). There is good parking available. The welcome was warm, and... More

We attended a birthday party locally, so this was literally a place to sleep and have breakfast. Check in was very quick. Room was clean, well appointed, comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent, a good clean, decent sized portion of Full English, but it was a varied menu for those with a lighter appetite. Service was polite and the food wasnt... More

We booked on the phone and were given a discounted deal as it would be in October. We found on arrival it has its own car park off the main road, a lovely restaurant and quaint accommodation with low doors of the "duck or grouse" variety. We were very comfortable, both the evening meal and breakfast were wonderful. I haven't... More
