Recently visited Yelapa and stayed at the Hotel Lagunita. Had been reading the reviews and they are a little misguiding. This is not a 4-star hotel.....this is about the level of a fish camp cabin! Rooms are wide open to the outdoor environment, there is a short wall that separates each guest room, there is NO privacy! Be sure that...

Yelapa is an amazing place to visit. 40 minute water taxi ride from Puerto Vallarta. Hotel Lagunita is right on the beach. We joked that we felt like we were in "Gilligan's Island." Amazing views! The rooms are a bit sparse, but clean. The sound of the ocean waves is the perfect remedy for anyone with problems sleeping! I would...

It's been years since we stayed for some days at the Lagunita Hotel in Yelapa, but yesterday we visited Yelapa for the day and had drinks and lunch at the Hotel Restaurant, also called La Lagunita. Service is casual, this is after all an Indian Reservation with a government run hotel. The resh orange juice was delicious, as was the...

Best locale for beach front rooms! Just relax on the beach...and enjoy! The room s are very comfortable, and the views are to die for! Fall asleep to the waves crashing on the beach and wake up to the beautiful sunrise shining in the bay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It is a rustic resort but the fresh cool breeze, sound of waves outside, candlelight dinner in the sand created a most memorable experience. Narda, our waitress at the restaurant was always smiling and very accommodating. Our room was unit #24 and had a 7 foot boulder separating the shower and toilet, which for...

I was excited to share this unique hotel on the shore of Yelapa with my wife. But what a disappointment to find how neglected and shabby this once amazing boutique hotel has become. The front desk staff on three separate shifts could not have cared less to see us. In fact we simply intruded into what else they were doing...

Sorry for the bad experience in the Hotel Lagunita. We are at the middle of the renovations right now and it is true we are being more focus in rebuilding the restaurant fast instead of be aware of the rooms like we just to. I appreciate your review because you make us realize our mistakes. I hope you give us...

Still quaint and beautiful though it badly needs some TLC. The location is incredible, but nearly everything is on the verge of falling apart or rusting through. Walk carefully and watch your step! Could be wonderful with some minor upgrades and basic maintenance.

My "sea view bungalow" was a filthy, bug infested nightmare. First - the filth. It's an open roof cabin by the beach - so it's fine that there would be some bugs or dust. However, it looked like no one had stepped inside for weeks, much less cleaned. My bed was literally infested with bugs (see photo). There were dead...

“My best advice would be to stay away until the owners fix it up”
  • Tarpaulins covering parts of the roof instead of proper palapa maintenance
  • someone else's discarded coconut with straw adorning our cheap plastic table for two days.
  • Bathroom light fixture falling out of the wall
  • Place for former toilet roll holder!
  • Warped sink counter top with poorly maintained and functioning taps.
