This place is at the quieter end of the beach. We didn't stay at the hotel but used the bar every day. Staff were great, prices low and both food and drinks were awesome. We tried the bars in the middle - they were busier and more expensive

This place is fabulously located on the beach in Yelapa, with stunning views from your room, and walk out access to the beach and pier. From a distance, it looks like paradise. Up closer, some warts. We somewhat knew what to expect of the rooms based on all of the reviews we read, and were not "surprised" at the rustic...

I've been going here for 40 years, and little change ..... except now there is real electricity (not a generator) and WiFi on the beach. Every room is creatively rustic Mexican, and different. Staff is superb and attentive, and the restaurant has consistently great meals, - and at night and sunset, with tables on the beach, and candles; is special beyond...

The Lagunita is all pelapa style cabins with lots of openings. The insects were not a problem when we were there. The rock pool overlooking the ocean was gorgeous as was the beach and the hotels restaurant, Tres Amigos. Overall, a lovely place to stay but maybe a little more attention to detail by the staff would be an improvement....

I want to start by saying that I knew this vacation would be “rustic”, I expected that. I have also spent time in my life backpacking so I am used to vacations and staying at places that are not 5 star experiences so I know what to expect. I have slept on hard uncomfortable beds before, no big deal! I...

My family and I stayed in a couple of the oceanview cabanas for a week just after Christmas. All in all, we had a wonderful time, but there are a few things I would like to mention. First of all, I understood that these rooms were going to be rustic, and I knew to bring my own shampoo/soaps etc. However,...

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed! There were ants all over the floor in the bathroom and crawling all over the wall in the bedroom, congregating in a mass on the wall, on a clump of who knows what! There were no towels or shampoo provided in the bathroom. The bed was covered with mosquito netting to keep...

We had been staying at the Four Seasons for a work trip so this was an overall wonderful trip. The room was basic, but had everything we needed and our front door was the beach! It doesn't get much better than that!

I SO badly wanted to give this review a *5, but can't. I will get the "con" out of the way so I can move onto just how amazing this place was! CON: -Pool was totally unusable for our 4 days. It was not fit for swimming, with a very murky look and yellowish foam collecting on the sides. Looked...

“My best advice would be to stay away until the owners fix it up”
  • Tarpaulins covering parts of the roof instead of proper palapa maintenance
  • someone else's discarded coconut with straw adorning our cheap plastic table for two days.
  • Bathroom light fixture falling out of the wall
  • Place for former toilet roll holder!
  • Warped sink counter top with poorly maintained and functioning taps.
