Two nights at Inala not long enough ..and we will certainly be back. The accommodation at Inala was excellent .. a spacious cottage in a beautiful setting .. many birds flitting about .. a few paces to the pardalote hide and a few more to the raptor hide.. and many paths to wander along. Loved the Jurassic garden ..inspired! We...

I stayed in Nairana for four nights and it was excellent. The house is perfectly placed for bird and mammal watching and, if I hadn't been out birding all day and spotlighting in the evening with my excellent guide, Mark, I would have been happy just sitting and watching to see what turned up. The house itself is very clean...

We stayed for two nights. Wonderful house, well equipped, beautiful wood, and nice location. Easy to access good birding or hiking; just out the door. We stayed in Nairana and had internet and a washer/dryer.

A group (7) of us stayed in the farm house and we found the staff very welcoming and helpful with local knowledge. We all really enjoyed having Ross (Gourmet Farmer) deliver our meals every night. We stayed 3 nights, managed two big walks and enjoyed the food and wine.

Great accommodation. Great wildlife. Friendly hosts. What more can you ask for? Best place I've ever stayed. The location is stunning and we felt very welcome; a bit like staying at a family member's farm but in the middle of gorgeous forest teeming with birds and wildlife. If you don't stay here while on Bruny you're missing out on something...

Hi Greepo - sorry for the delay in response. Wow, that is great, thank you, we feel honoured to be the best place you've stayed! Of course we cant take all the credit - our great wildlife must get some of that! We think Bruny (and Tasmania for that matter) is totally underrated as a winter destination - nothing a...

We've stayed at Inala cottage before, this was our first time in Nairana which is a little smaller and perfect for couples. Well-appointed, self-contained, comfortable and quiet, with on-site walks, wildlife viewing including Zeru the white wallaby and lots of bird life. On our final night we enjoyed a delicious two-course venison roast with dessert, cooked and delivered by Ross...

My family stayed in Nairana cottage which is the more luxurious of the two types of accommodation here at Inala. We were greeted enthusiastically by Tonia and a well appointed kitchen, plenty of cutlery and crockery, and 2 bedrooms as well as a sofa that could convert into a sofa bed. There is a pond nearby so make sure your...

Thanks for your wonderful feedback on your stay! We are thrilled to hear you had such a good time with us, and managed to see Forty-spotted Pardalote. Good to hear too that you were cosy - we think autumn/winter is a lovely, and somewhat underrated, time to visit Tassie! We look forward to sharing our Bruny with you in future....

We stayed in Inala, the three bedroom cottage. It is located in a beautiful garden, with birds at your doorstep. And then just short walks (or long if you want) to more birds (rare pardalotes), white wallabies, a whole host of wonderful animals (and a few snakes, but this is Australia so that is to be expected...) Tanya and all...

We stayed for 2 nights in the Nairana (spelling?) cabin which was very private, clean, and well stocked. It was our first stop after a dash from NSW through Hobart. We're really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Inala. Sorry for such a late reply. It's now very much the busy season here and we have several 'babies' in care, and also plenty hatching out - three baby swallows with a nest above the Nature Centre have just taken flight.

Cottage accommodation situated at "Inala", a 600 hectare private nature reserve near Cloudy Bay beach and the South Bruny National Park on Bruny Island Tasmania. Birds and wildlife abound on the property, which is world-renowned as a birdwatching destination. The two self-contained cottages on the property each have fully-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, broadband internet access, TV/DVD and outside BBQ areas with access to the property and walking tracks for wildlife viewing or exploring. Guided birdwatching and nature tours are also available at an additional charge (bookings essential). A Nature Museum and Jurassic Garden are open to Inala visitors and guests. The Museum showcases minerals, fossils and shells from around the world, whilst the garden, established in 2013, demonstrates the floristic links that existed between the southern continents, that were united in the Gondwana supercontinent, during the Jurassic period, many millions of years ago. Described as 'living fossils' these incredible plants, having changed little in millions of years, are a window on our distant past. ... more   less
