Our family of 9 (5 adults and 4 small children) enjoyed 3 nights in Fi's Cottage. It was perfect for us. The spacious, well kept gardens were perfect for the children to play in after a day at the beach or bush-walking. The cottage has all the necessary amenities and there was plenty of room to move. Fireplace, big TV,...

Some of the previous reviews were critical about this not being a luxury retreat, so lets set it straight, the Cockpit is a cabin (or shack or bach depending on where you are from) with the most sensational views (probably the best on the Island) and great privacy. If you want a luxury retreat with robe and slippers as some...

What a place. Picked it for two nights. We both enjoyed it immensely. The view of the neck at evening from the lounge area was fantastic. The view was so great we even witnessed the Dark Mofo lights from Hobart. The fire was great and it was that safe we did not even need a key to lock the doors....

Very happy with our choice, the staff are very friendly and even let us change out booking after our trip was delayed. The cottage we are staying in is adorable and the cafe has a great view and nice garden.

Loved this place!!! My husband and I stayed in the Cockpit on Thursday night and enjoyed it immensely. I wish I had booked for at least a couple of nights because the feel of the place was relaxing and the views breathtaking! The fridge contained a bottle of bubbly and all we needed for a delicious breakfast - to cook...

After spending a few nights in the cockpit I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a lovely room with an amazing glass wall offering ocean views all the way to Mt Wellington. The fire was lovely of an evening and the afternoon sun was enough to not want to leave. The accommodation was very neat and clean and the...

This place's best days are long ago. I suspect the price has not changed but the extras and mainteance have ceased to exist. For $250 a night i expect more than just great view and a room for the night and what seemed a bit of a random assortment for breakfast (eg 3 litres of milk but no cereal and...

My wife and I had two nights at the Cockpit this April. Location: brilliant (stunning views and good access to local attractions) Service: brilliant (hosts treated us like friends, met needs and knew when to withdraw) Facilities: Very good (the property and business is being upgraded and the 'very good' can only become better).

We dined at the hothouse cafe. The host (Mike) was very laid back and welcoming. I like the concept of dining in a hothouse, with gravel floor etc. My partners salmon was overcooked, my chicken while moist would feed two people. The veggies were delightful. Wine okay at best Great concept, just needs to fine tune the food side of...
