We felt so comfortable here that we chose to stay an extra night and were pleased we did. We were in "William" which was totally private, faced into the bird filled native bush and it was a pleasure to wake up in the mornings listening to the birdsong and the river (unseen, but within earshot). This is a bush style...

Our family of 3 children and 2 adults stayed 1 night in "Byron". We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was lovely: nicely designed and furnished, very clean and well appointed. The kitchen was well equiped and it was great to have a laundry to use too. We especially appreciated the quality linen and VERY comfy beds (and the...

Thank you John for being such a friendly and helpful host. Lovely cabin, we were greeted by a lit log fire...a treat on an unseasonable January day. Recommended walks etc were really helpful. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area...wonder why those who complain about wifi restrictions were bothering to visit such a peaceful area of nature and...

One night stopover on the way to Strahan. We stayed in a one bed studio for $175- no breakfast. Louise, our hostess was very helpful regarding local walks, and we appreciated our complimentary basket of fresh coffee, mints and port. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped. The queen bed had quality linen, and was extremely comfortable. The furnishings...

We recently spent three nights at Derwent Bridge Chalets and Studios as an injured neck prevented me from carrying a pack across the overland track. The studio had everything we needed for sleeping, washing and cooking. But once we discovered the hotel within walking distance we were less inclined to cook! The best thing about the chalets was the extremely...

There's not a lot of accommodation in Derwent Bridge, so this place has a captive market. The chalet was clean, comfortable and well equipped. BUT, I thought it was expensive for the standard of accommodation on offer (the most expensive place we stayed in 2 weeks in Australia - including a central Melbourne Hotel!). It felt like the owners have...

It's often the little things that make a stay memorable: John welcomed us with local knowledge, a very tasty port, ground coffee and chocolates. We stayed in a chalet named Rufus, after circumnavigating Tasmania, and agreed that it was the cleanest place we had stayed. Our Chalet was spotless and contained very good quality facilities. The beds were comfortable and...

John & Louise are hosts with an eye to detail that a lot of other cabin and chalet accommodation would do well to emulate. It’s the little things that matter in these class chalets that are geared to families: handles in the bathroom, the double shower recess, an electric wok, excellent play area outside for children, washing machine & dryer,...

We stayed in a chalet called Byron, there was plenty of room for us and our 3 kids. This was one of the cleanest, most organised places we stayed at during our 2 week trip to Tassy. The owners had thought of everything, including choccies for the kids and port for us - fabulous after a great day's hiking!

John welcomed us right from the very beginning with a warm smile and much-needed travel advice. His local knowledge was very much appreciated. The studio rooms were spacious and comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Our room had the biggest shower we've seen all trip! I have absolutely no complaints about this place. They really make you feel valued.
