The lodge itself is in a gorgeous location right in the national park.
Also the rooms (we stayed in a premier spa cabin) themselves are nice and spacious, with a great big spa bath and balcony overlooking the water.

Gorgeous location, lounge area is such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a mesmorising view with comfort, great wine and beers and the meals are first class.
Staff were very helpful, not a cheap place but worth every cent you will spend.

We decided to go up to Freycinet from Hobart to get away and change of scene and it certainly did the trick! Our Premier spa cabin was really comfortable, even though we aren't spa people and didn't use it, the rest of the cabin was...More

You are right, May will be a quiet time at Freycinet and I'm sure you will be able to book a cruise when you arrive. We did not go on a cruise. We spent most of our time bush walking. The return walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout took about 1 hour and was easy. You can also walk to Wineglass Bay and complete a loop circuit which will take about 3 hours to complete. We also climbed Mount Amos but it was difficult with two kids in tow. Enjoy your stay.
