I stumbled across this pace on TripAdvisor when searching for restaurants in and around New Norfolk. I loved the look of the building and read a few review so called to make a reservation for dinner. We visited on a Friday night and there was only one other couple dining when we arrived around 7pm. We shared the tasting plate...

In a word .... AMAZING. I just loved loved loved this place. First of all the house is just beautiful. A majestic 1800's restoration. It is also in an awesome location nestled into the valley with awesome views. Of course if you come here at night you won't see the surrounding countryside. But then you step, inside to a different era...

We have nothing but good things to say about this delightful house and the hospitality. Wonderful accommodation, food, value for money and the gardens that ran down to the River Derwent. See our Google review. Can't think how the really mean people who reviewed on Trip Advisor could possibly claim that their experience was so bad. Something going on there,...

We took a dear friend for a mystery weekend to celebrate her birthday. We'd wanted to stay at Tynwald for some time so this was the opportunity. For those who have an appreciation for history and period decor, Tynwald is a delight! The hosts are both chefs, so dinner was delicious and they surprised all of us with a birthday...

This lovely old building is stuffed full of clutter. The first thing you see in the spooky dark hallway is a life-sized dummy of a child dressed in a Scottish piper's(?) outfit. Then down the hall, a stuffed dead rabbit standing up on its back legs. Yuck! Our room was clean enough but with an ancient box of tissues and...

Friendly, clean and quaint, 1800 decor, set in the beautiful surroundings of New Norfolk. Our room was quiet and peaceful, bed was the most comfortable sleep ever!! Pat, Garry and Cat, Tommy looked after us very well and the dining experience was amazing. Expected more rustic home- style cooking, but was treated to high quality chef standard meals :O). Very...

After a long day out exploring the Styx Valley, we discovered our intended nights accommodation closed for the winter. After calling a few places we were recommended Tynwald. Pat was very helpful and polite over the phone and offered us the room with ensuite within the main house. The house was furnished in a Victorian style and would have provided...

Travelling through Tasmania & booked in at Tynwald Willow Bend Estate to find an old country manor house run by a very welcoming couple. Stayed for a most excellent meal, faultless. Met their pets, Tina the pig and Tom the cat. Thanks again Pat and Garry for a good time.
