My wife and I together with a friend stayed a night in this comfy motel , excellent to have continental style breakfast in the room delivered, and a very reasonable price. Would stay again on another trip, value for money.

I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at Anchor Wheel. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Thought I looked cold when I booked in so visited my room to ensure the electric blanket was on and that the heater was heating my room. Loved the convenience of the breakfast basket delivered the night before. Nice china in the cupboard too - no...

We arrived St.Helen at 8:30pm and the street was dark with nothing awakened and there is no mobile signal at all. Try to find a place to stay but all receptions were closed. Luckily we found this motel, the room is clean with heater and electric blanket. Very reasonable price

For $80 a night including a basic continental breakfast, we highly recommend this traditional style motor-inn for the road trip style traveller - no bells and whistles, but great value for a clean and comfy nights sleep!

The Motel is a single story. The rooms are clean and tidy but dated I have had a car accident these strangers have taken me in at a reduced rate and look after me for no reason except they are nice. They provide a basic breakfast which is included in the price and they cannot do enough for you. The...

Jan was lovely and so welcoming - for the price it was great, very clean and breakfast very cheap. 50's decor but you can't complain. Compared to the narky people across the road it was great! Great stay thankyou

For the money it cost we can have no complaints, but this is a motel that needs a bit of TLC. It was clean and Jan made us so welcome, but is tatty round the edges, with a bit of a bit tidy up this could once again have the glory obviously it once had. 20 mins walk to village...

We read all the reviews and agree -quirky place, mommas and poppas type throw back hotel, where personal service matters. Our daughter left her coat in the wardrobe, and we knew it was worth ringing back and Jan would offer to send it back. Many thanks Jan, and good luck for the future!

We found this place driving past. The guy checking us in (not Peter mentioned on the website) had obviously enjoyed a few too many drinks, and could hardly hold a sentence together, but you had to hand it to him for trying :) It was all quite funny really and we did get checked in! A bit later the owner...
