Stayed at Maree's lodge to explore the Tarkine Wilderness. It is an incredible location, on the edge of the Tarkine...yep, walking distance! Maree's knowledge and passion for the forest and wilderness is inspiring and infectious. She is a true Eco warrior! Loved her!! The guided 3 plus hour hike was mesmerising, incredibly beautiful and rich in nature, wonder and awe!...

Arriving for a 2 night stay we were warmly greeted by Maree & were not only overcome by the surroundings & the lodge itself but by the fact that we were the only guests as Marees' policy was that only one booking was accepted at a time. Add to this that Maree would not only take us on guided walks...

Beautiful lodge we had all to ourselves. Maree prepared dinner for us --- have her do that -- it was excellent. She also prefers that your forest walk be guided. You really are in the wilderness but the lodge is very well equipped.

We arrived not knowing quite what to expect, and were warmly greeted by Maree. We had this beautiful lodge to ourselves. The lodge is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean. Maree is totally passionate about the Tarkine temperate rainforest. The guided walk and drive around the rainforest was amazing. Maree knowledge of the flora and fauna is prodigious. We arranged for Maree...

This is an absolute must do when visiting Tasmania. When we arrived we were lucky enough to be greeted by a group of rescue masupials that were visiting at the same time. We were also greeted by the amazingly tireless Maree who is the perfect host. You cannot help but to become as passionate about the Tarkine Wilderness when spending...

Maree is a generous, knowledgeable, passionate host and was dedicated to provide a great accommodation to her guests. Her lodge is full of complimentary food. She didn't accept booking after we booked the lodge so we could have the whole lodge to ourselves. She demonstrated her strong knowledge and passion for the forest during the guided forest walk which is...

Thank you for your very kind words. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here. I do really love what I do, so most of the time it really doesn't feel like work. I am a great lover of animals too and your generous tip will be donated to one of the many causes we support out here at the...

We spent a night here on our way to Smithton and it was an experience that we will always remember. Marie welcomed us into the lodge that they had hand built from timber milled on site then took us into her little bit of paradise explaining the trees , the fungi ,and the ferns as well as the local history....

In the middle of nowhere this place was our perfect getaway from the noisy world. What a wonderful host Maree and an excellent guide through the temperate rainforest and boy there are some giants in there. I can't recommend this enough!

It isn't easy to get to but it was harder to leave. Last bit of the trip is gravel road and then you are at this gorgeous lodge. Once the car is off the only sounds you hear are nature. Our host, Marie, is a marvel of nature herself. We took the option of having her cook dinner for us...

Staying at the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge was the best part of our recent month touring Tasmania. I was a little surprised when the owner contacted us, a few days prior to our trip north from Hobart, asking what we'd like in the 'fridge. Once there though I realised how far we were from the shops. Not only did the owner...
