This is our location we use for our out of town guests and staff to stay when we have events in Lakeside. We love the staff and the service. The breakfast is always great. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We highly suggest staying here.

Staying at Idlewyld is like being at your grandma's place! Cozyand friendly, the smell of warm pumpkin pancakes or apple cake in the air! The owners are always happy to see you, they may join you on the porch to listen to the music coming from Hoover Auditorium across the street at night. It's like stepping back in time to...

The Idlewyld is a 140 year old heritage property lovingly maintained and run by a wonderful couple. Hand made quilts, cross stitch work, and incredible breakfasts will great you every day. The hosts are a wealth of knowledge in this community they have called their summer home for many a year. The location in Lakeside right next to the auditorium...

I agree about everything said about the Idylewild at Lakeside ,Ohio. We have stayed there many times, as well as in both hotels and other B & B's. Not mentioned is that for the physical challenged, rooms upstairs are difficult to reach. because there are long steep stairs to climb. Lakeside is not a 5 Star resort, and it is...

Idlewyld is a beautiful place to stay, it is full of charm and comfort. The front porch is lined with rockers and is directly across the street from the auditorium in Lakeside! Great location! Breakfast is plentiful and full of variety, not the typical dried out pastries and beagles served at other establishments! Owners are available for advice about Lakeside...

We spent one night at this B&B. We were new to Lakeside, Ohio and the little town/Methodist Church Camp has many charms, including tree-lined streets, charming cottages and larger homes (like this one) and plenty of shops and leisure activities. The positives of the Idlewyld Bed & Breakfast are that it is clean and well-maintained. There is a large wrap-around...

The worst thing I can say is the water pressure in the shower was almost nonexistent. But the hosts were very nice and Lakeside is quaint and charming. A relaxing getaway. Breakfast is abundant. The rooms are smaller but adequate. There is central air. No TV in the bedrooms! But there is plenty to do-or just chill out on the...

Idlewyld is more like a 1950's boarding house in lakeside, Ohio. Good buffet breakfast, but only served at 8 am!! only had one TV to watch whatever the owner wants to watch, decor was out of the 50's, and you had to buss your own breakfast dishes and strip your bed and take downstairs when leaving!! the hosts were friendly...

Our experience at Idlewyld B&B was a mix of strong positives and some just-OK's. But I should say at the outset that my wife and I were there during the Midwest Birding Symposium in September 2011, and things might be different at other times. Two big plusses: The hosts, Dan and Joan, are delightful people - friendly and accommodating -...

“GE a reservation in very early (like in winter) if you need a room on the first floor. Most rooms with shower and toilet facilities are in the corner of the room, with probably a partition in the room. there are several "down the hall" facfilities which are good. Inquire about what you should expect in the room before you book if you are concerned.”
