The entire experience at the Nationwide Hotel was greatly disappointing and underwhelming. The first issue was having to park a quarter of a mile away (for handicap parking) as there was only 2 handicapped spots that were filled the entire time we were there. My mother who is disabled had to walk this distance in order to be able to check in and we were given little alternative for closer parking as preference was given to wedding guests. The front staff was rude. The room was dirty- which is an understatement. There was cigarette butts (up to 5) behind the dresser in a supposed non-smoking room. There was dust and hair all along the back wall of the bathroom, under the sinks. There was open candy underneath the bed and multiple bottle caps strewn throughout. It is obvious no one had done the "deep cleaning and sanitizing" as promised. There were only 2 provided towels including the hand towel. My disabled mother slipped on the wet floor as there was no floor mat provided. When calling the front desk to report the cigarette butts (to not get charged the cleaning fee) and the non-working television (after following the provided "troubleshooting tips"), the greeting on the other line was "Yo." I was completely taken aback. There was an excuse put up that I called down to the laundry room and he thought it was the front desk [I called the front desk by the number provided]. Unprofessional. He came to "fix" the TV - which still did not work throughout our stay. Will not return nor will I ever host an event here - will let my physician colleagues know the same.

We love staying at the Nationwide Hotel whether it is for a OSU game or just a weekend getaway with friends. It is in a beautiful setting just away from the hustle and bustle of Polaris but still close to many great attractions. Only a few minutes from the highway and downtown. It is our choice when we are staying in Columbus!

We stayed Sunday night 7/19 as a family of 5. This was our first "vacation" since COVID and we wanted to make it really special for the kids. We booked the hotel based on the package offered online and because we wanted to scope out the hotel for our upcoming wedding. We booked the Columbus Zoo package which included 2 tickets to the Zoo, Breakfast Buffet in the Ohio Dining Room for 2, with the option to purchase additional tickets. We were thrilled. We booked the hour swimming pool time on Monday morning to swim as well before the Zoo. We checked in and our room was not ready but was informed that we could still use the outdoor pool. We were also informed that there were no dining options available except on the weekends but that they set up a lovely breakfast buffet in the lobby from 7am-9am. We upgraded our room to the balcony suite so we could all have breakfast outside, our pool time was booked at 9am and we would be ready to head to the Zoo around 10:30am. Woke up the next day and went to the lobby to grab breakfast at 7am. There was nothing on the tables. I assumed they still needed time so I grabbed coffee and walked back to the room. 10 minutes later I walked back down and there was still nothing else. I inquired at the front desk, where I was informed that there was cereal, milk and bagels available. That is the breakfast buffet? I was told they were unaware that the Zoo package included the breakfast option and that was all they had available, but that we could go down the street to a Bob Evans to have a warm breakfast. So even though we paid for breakfast as part of our rate we had to go somewhere else and pay $60 extra for a meal we didn't anticipate needing to have plus the stress of taking 3 kids under 5 into a restaurant. I also got the pleasure of listening to my kids cry the whole way there because we had to give up the pool reservations in order to quickly pack up, check out, make it to breakfast and then make it over to the Zoo. So we lost a major part of the reason we stayed at the resort to begin with and the whole morning was pretty much ruined. I attempted to contact the hotel manager but have yet to receive a return phone call. I was told that even though there were dozens of us at the front desk complaining, that he was not worried about it and would not be in until 10am and we could make our complaints directly to him then. I genuinely felt bad for the very confused front desk staff who had no idea that they were expected to have a breakfast option and were taking the complaints with grace. If you stay here on a day that is not a Friday/Saturday, don't expect anything more than bagels and cold cereal, and don't expect to get a return call from management. We certainly will not be hosting our event here as I do not want my guests treated the way we were. Great staff, terrible unresponsive management and false advertising on packages. Super upset with how much we paid to not even be able to use all the amenities we were looking forward to.

We drove here from Cleveland for my sons birthday. I booked the hotel almost a week in advance. Check in was at 3 and we arrived at 4:15. As I am writing this review I am still waiting in the lobby to check in and it is now almost 6 pm. My family which includes two small children are tired and ready to get into our room. I can’t give a full review of the hotel or rooms because we can’t get checked in to our room to experience anything else. While waiting we have seen at least five families after us come straight to the desk and check in with their rooms being readily available.

Our daughter and son-in-law had their wedding reception here and it was the ideal spot for not only the dinner and dance but for pictures and as a place for out-of-town guests to stay. The staff was great and did everything they could to help make our weekend run as smoothly as possible. There was a little mix up with the gift bags for our guests staying at the hotel, but overall, the experience was phenomenal. We would certainly consider staying there again.
