This historical hotel is on the Ohio River, and some rooms face the river. Each room has a unique decor. The sounds from adjacent rooms can carry. The Gunroom breakfast was delicious and very inexpensive. The staff is wonderful and quick witted. Plenty of hot water, no microwaves or refrigerators. Great view from penthouse roof deck.

Concluded our southern swing camping trip with a paradigm shift and stayed indoors at the LaFayette Hotel, Room 304, which is a corner room boasting a balcony. Big fun to be relatively high to watch the river traffic, especially, the barges. Also, the hotel is pet friendly. Comfortable bed. Just a couple of problems. No coffee maker in the room,...

We stayed for 2 days midweek as a get-away. We had a river view/balcony room. The hotel is a beautiful century old building with replica furniture. The restaurant's food was terrific and the service was wonderful. Staff were cordial and helpful.

We stay at the Lafayette often and are never disappointed. Nice rooms, Roof Top bar with a view of the river! What more could you ask for? I booked one of the Cabin rooms this trip as I was traveling alone. Room was fine, but just an FYI, it would not be suitable for a Large Person. Bathroom is very...

We stayed for 2 days over the weekend. The hotel felt like it was 100 years ago. Little shelf space in the bathroom, wood floor elevator witch was very slow, window air conditioning and heating, but it was clean, had a king bed, large screen tv and good wifi. What more can you ask for. And, by the way, the...

The Lafayette Hotel has been a fixture in Marietta, Ohio, for decades. Especially for the Baby-Boomer graduates of Marietta College, the hotel is a font of memories, and a defiant defender of the notion that you can go home again, because, in truth, little about the hotel has changed over the past 40-something years. Which is why folks such as...

When you walk into the amazing lobby I was greeted by the most wonderful staff at the Front Desk. We spent time in the lobby sitting in the unique antique furniture and gazing at the grand piano. I spoke of the history of the furniture to one of the girls at the desk. She was very intrigued to hear about...

First problem was checking in. Maybe the desk clerk was on the phone with a customer, but we waited and waited for someone to appear. We called out. I went to the bar to see, if the person was helping out in there. When she finally emerged after about ten minutes, there were two more groups waiting to check in....

Just got back from an anniversary trip to Marietta. Loved this little town. Booked room 215, based on what I read in the reviews here. It was the most expensive room, like $160 for a Sat. night stay as it was a king size parlor, with balcony and river view. It was spacious, had cool furniture and a lot of...

Not the first time I've been disappointed in a visit to The Lafayette. This time we booked a queen room through Expedia. The hotel would not honor the reservation, saying that Expedia overbooked them. This was blatantly untrue as they had queen rooms available at a higher price and offered us a full sized bed for the Expedia price. I...
