We really enjoyed our stay. The water park was a blast and the rooms were clean, large and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The food was pretty good but a little pricey. All in all, a great visit and we would go again. Looking forward to the one in Florida being built.

We booked one night at Great Wolf Lodge and stayed in the Loft Fireplace Suite (Balcony/Patio) which sleeps 8. We had 9 so one of the beds had an extra little person in it. We arrived around 1:30 and received our wrist bands so we could enjoy the water park even though our room was not ready. It is typical that guests arrive before the room is ready. It would be nice if there was a locker room for early arrivals so that it would be easier to change into suits. This would also be nice because checkout is at 11 a.m.You can stay past that time and play at the water park but again you do not have a room to shower in or change your clothes. Our room was ready by 4 p.m. and we were able to get all of our luggage transported. We truly did not spend much time in our room because everyone was having fun at the water park. It is very convenient that there are resturants in the lodge but my suggestion would be to bring your own water/beverages and snacks because they are overpriced. The pizza we had for lunch was grossly overpriced and not very good and the beer was warm. We dined at The Loose Moose Cottage for dinner. This is a buffet style restaurant. The food was the best buffet style food I have ever had but again it was pricey. This was our first time staying at Great Wolf Lodge and I would go again and be sure to take more of our own food/beverages. The children in our group we ages 9 and above so we did not participate in any of the activities that are planned throughout the day for children. They did spend some time at the arcade in the morning before the water park opened and it was fun and resonably priced.

This is our third visit to a Great Wolf Lodge. We were very much looking forward to this vacation. However, I think all the Covid-19 craziness has sucked the fun out of vacations for the near future. The waterslides were fun, there was one day that they had the Coyote Cannon shut down, the attendants couldn't say why.
They are very strict on the mask's, to the point of some of the employees being rude and telling people not to touch ANYTHING in the wand shop. We ended up not buying any souvenirs at all as the nastiness just killed our mood. I didn't even take pictures, I don't want to remember this trip at all.
Hot tubs are closed (yet you can be shoulder to shoulder in the wave pool), fitness center closed down, no spa anymore (it was listed on the website when we booked the vacation).
In our room we had no papers, pens or information. We were given 1 roll of toilet paper and no extra pillows for the pullout bed (we did call down and have some brought up right away). Vending and ice machines are off limits. Everyone walks around on edge and you can hear parents telling kids to keep their masks on so they don't get kicked out. The silliest thing we saw was at the dance party. The kids were given socially distanced squares to dance on, yet the rest who waited for their turn stood in a huge crowd. I get businesses have to follow certain rules in order to run these days, but the atmosphere just felt oppressive and we were relieved to go home.

While did not have any horrible experience here it is quite expensive base price and nothing outside of water park is included. Cleanliness is obviously not a priority, and elevators and elevator areas were especially dirty. Water park has little for older kids, and has about 1/3 of the tables/chairs needed for the amount of people they pack in there. For the price you pay here you should be able to sit down without shelling out another $ 160 for a "cabana" area that seats 4 (1/3 of our party). Our "Guest Services Rep" who texted me upon our check in to advise would help with any questions or issues never responded to any of my 3 texts. Again nothing shocking here - typical in today's environment - business model is to run a high volume of people through at a high cost and charge an above market rate for anything outside of room & water park pass (ie: arcade), and provide as little interaction and services as possible. Simply overpriced and underwhelming. Will just start looking earlier next time and find a better value.

We had a great time at this Great Wolf Lodge location. The staff was so friendly. My daughter broke her foot and was on crutches in a boot and they moved our room to be super close to the water park to make it easier on her. She also told us where to park to avoid stairs on the way in. The bartender was fantastic in the water park, remembering our drink order every time (and we only ordered 4 times over two days). The arcade attendants went to retrieve more golf balls so we could all have colors that glow in the dark when only darker colors were left in the arcade, the candy store attendant went to another location to find blue vanilla cotton candy for my daughter. Every single person went above and beyond. We found the food and drinks to be very affordable but we did go out for dinner and breakfast each day for a break. We can’t wait to go back!

I was cautious about going here during COVID. Generally, things were well done. There were a few people who didn't wear masks, but they didn't look like people with whom reason would work. A rating was lost because on Saturday the pool and leap pad were closed, which forced everyone together on the remaining attractions and things got close. Also, the dual lines were opened on the rides which placed people close together. Otherwise, they limited people in the arcade, enforced mask wearing, and I was impressed with how hard the cleaning crew worked on each room.

Would have been 4.5/5 but it won't allow me to score that way. The room was great, patio nice, the staff were very friendly (which doesn't happen at all Lodges). Pool area was clean and there were enough helpful staff available. Not sure why the Grill wasn't open but the buffet across the hall was. Guess my only complaint would be that garbages weren't emptied in the rooms daily, or beds/towels freshened. It can be done safely even with COVID guidelines. You want to charge a resort fee as an add-on, we should be getting resort services.

We went during the height of the COVID pandemic to try to get away. Our sons (9 & 2) absolutely LOVED the Wolf Den suite! The bunk room was really cool and we loved that they had a separate tv. Our room was ready upon arrival at 3:00 pm and check-in went smoothly. The only complaint is there was no itinerary or mention of an app/tv station that showed the events (like story times) for the lodge so we missed them all!
We ate at the only restaurant open for dining and Kimberly was our server. She went out of her way to make the experience spectacular for our kids! My husband and I were able to enjoy our drinks and dinner because Kimberly did such an excellent job providing everything to entertain and feed our kids! We found that the staff and other patrons were respectful of social distancing, wiping high touch items down and making everyone feel safe without taking away from the experience. We can't wait to go again!

Booked one night at Great Wolf using one of their many offer codes they have. Stayed in the Grizzly Bear Suite, with 5 adults and one child, and had plenty of room and privacy. You can arrive and start making use of the water park @ 1pm the day of arrival. We arrived around 1:30 and although the room wasn't ready, we got our wristbands and headed to the water park. Got a text around 3, letting us know the room was ready. With the convenient wristbands, you don't have to go back to the front desk, because they act as your room key as well. Got to the room, which was very spacious and updated. The room was spotless. Didn't stay in the room long, before we were back to the water park. A couple in our party ate at the snack bar in the water park. Good food, but pricey, as to be expected for the convenience. Finished up at the water park, got cleaned up, and explored the arcade. Games are reasonably priced. Redemption selection is nice. Arcade was clean. Everywhere you went, you saw a member of the staff cleaning something, so the place was very immaculate. Staff was friendly and interactive. All the amenities that you need are on site, if you choose to use them. I would offer a couple of suggestions to save a little money. Bring some snacks, and drinks and keep in the room. You can make it a budget friendly trip, or you can go all out, it's up to you. I will definitely be back with my family and my niece to Great Wolf Lodge. This was our first trip, but definitely won't be the last!!

We took our 5 year old granddaughter she had a blast. Small problem with check in but hotel comped us a late checkout for our inconvenience. Desk attendant not super friendly or helpful in explaining paw pass, where to go etc. The pool attendants were very good. The young lady who was running the 4 tube slides was so friendly. She was all alone but the smile never left her face. We felt the signage explaining rides and heights was confusing. The lazy river area had too many empty tubes and kids fooling around in the water. I felt the lifeguard wasn’t as conscientious in this area.

I don’t know about tickets, but there is a nice trail that leads right to kings island so you can leave your car at the lodge and save parking$. I think it is down near doors 1 &2.

Are the pup/paw passes worth it?
Answer from Dr_Xaos
Palatine, Illinois1,221 contribution256 helpful votes
The Pup/Paw passes do save you a few dollars versus buying each of the included items/activities individually. However, if you don't use everything on the pass, then you'll potentially be losing money (i.e., would be cheaper to just buy the specific things that you want to do). Excluding the small amount of cost savings, I've found the greater "worth" of getting a pup/paw pass is for the joy that a child gets from having it. Kids might enjoy wearing their pass around the resort and getting the benefits from it. Plus, the staff usually does a pretty good job at making the pass holder feel extra special.
