A good welcome, excellent bedroom and en suite, breakfast with everything you might reasonably want, friendly hosts, off-street parking, small village location. Location ideal for visiting Salisbury (with its cathedral), Stonehenge, Old Sarum airfield, Porton Down (should you want to) etc. Highly recommended. A good tip - the Black Horse Inn just a minute's walk away - serves good beer... More

Our stay at The Poplars was our first experience with an English B&B and was everything we wanted. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Maria's scrambled eggs are perfect! The Poplars is ideally situated as a base for exploring Salisbury and nearby sites.

Tucked away off the A338 at Winterbourne Earls this is a peaceful place to spend a night, or a few days. I'd prefer this over staying in Salisbury every time. My room is upstairs and well furnished, comfy double bed, clean with a good shower. There's a great pub 2 minutes walk away for dinner (the Black Horse). Since I... More

Have stayed here with Kelvin and maria twice now, once on my pre-wedding night and once when we attended a late evening in the local when Kelvin and maria offered to put us up. The rooms are spotless, not just spotless perfectly spoless with comfortable beds and linen again scupulously clean. The en-suite bathroom fitted with new showers were as... More

Would thoroughly recommend The Poplars bed and breakfast. We booked because we were attending a wedding nearby. Our room, part of an extension was a double with en-suite bathroom. A lovely clean and bright room with a comfortable double bed. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of buffet breakfast cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit etc. Cooked breakfast was perfect.... More

what a really lovely place. Saw it on Tripadvisor and was not dissappointed. Run by 2 lovely people who really care and their suggestion to use the local Pub the Black Horse for our family gathering was perfect too. If you are looking for a raving night life with a disco next door.....don't book here.....it is so lovely and quiet.... More

We booked this B&B as we were attending a friend's wedding nearby. We were lucky with the weather of course, but the location certainly would have deserved an extra night just to enjoy the room and the surroundings a bit more. The owners were very accommodating with our slightly early arrival which allowed us to get ready for the wedding... More

We had to be in Salisbury for three days but wanted an alternative to the purple hotel. Stumbled across The Poplars B&B which was conveniently located for the area we needed to be in. The two rooms on offer were located in an annexe which was originally the garage. A good arrangement as it meant we could come & go... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night. It is not too far from Stonehenge/Avebury and is in a small village so if you love quiet, it's perfect. The main house is very old and charming. The bedrooms are actually in the converted garage next to the main house, but they're nicely done. The only thing I would say... More

A very pleasant B&B in the quiet of a little village in the surroundings of Salisbury. The stay is relaxing and the owner Maria is very kind. Just a little defect: it’s perhaps a bit expensive if compared with other B&B of the same level.
