Last time we were in Portmouth we stayed at the Holiday Inn on 2nd street, it was under construction so this time we stayed at the Ameristay. Upon arrival i felt this was a bad idea. The fact that it was an outdoor entrance for the room, i could not sleep a wink all night. They gave a discount for...

This MOTEL has filled in the pool with grass...it is a motel with outdoor entrances to each room from the parking lot. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean. When I called the front desk to ask for more towels, the women told me to 'send one of your boys down to get them'.

At the end of a 113 mile bicycle trip in 20+ mph winds, a dry barn would be welcome. So we risked staying here rather than sleeping in a tent on a football field. After reading the review diatribes, we were expecting a cockroach square dance when we opened the door with other varmints jumping out of the ceilings. So...

Stay away from this hotel. They advertise a pool and its covered up and not open. When you go to walk in to the main desk, the front entrance is covered with cigarettes, no ash tray for smokers. The sign by the front of the road has weeds growing up the sign. The flower beds around the office and motel...

This was indeed one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. There were four of us sharing a room and when we asked for more towels (mind you they only had two to begin with) they acted like we were going to steal them. They made us exchange the two towels we had used before giving us two fresh...

After checking in and going to our room, we went to the Ponderosa Restaurant, a short distance away. The Ponderosa is not even listed on the Days Inn website under "Restauants", although it's the closest restaurant to the motel, next to the KFC, which is in front of the Ponderosa. The Days Inn, Portsmouth, Ohio, website reports to have a...

The beds smelled, the toilet was cracked, and, worst of all, the ceiling in the bathroom was covered with dark black mold--not just spots, either--big patches of mold. When I complained to the manager on duty, he said there was nothing he could do because none of the other available rooms would be any better. It was awful! I will...

“We talked to the General Manager, Linda Hammond, about the specific type of room that we wanted-King and NS-and she made sure that we got it. We had a lower floor room off of the courtyard, and it was peaceful and quiet. Every room that night was filled for a bicycle event!”
