The Anchor Inn Boutique Hotel is a quirky, one-of-a-kind hotel, with light-hearted, mildly rebellious room details and a designer décor. With only 9 guest rooms and a 2-bedroom cottage, we are small and intimate in size. A luxury hotel, we are intentionally not “stuffy”. We stand out from the crowd because we challenge the common 'party island' beliefs. Our guests enjoy a quiet and classy place to stay that's close to everything. You won't find a “party hotel” here. We pride ourselves on providing a quiet, secure, residential location without the party - the kind of place where you go to enjoy a nap, a good book, the company of friends, drinks on the patio and the beauty of an island sunset. Our casually elegant rooms are the sweet spot of the hotel. Each guest room or suite has been thoughtfully designed with handpicked elements and furnishings, a touch of whimsy and all the comforts of home. Our rooms are appointed with the finest bed linens on a super plush but firm king bed, and four pillows of your choice (feather, soft, firm, or foam.) Your room is complete with French doors leading to your own private balcony. The en-suite bathrooms feature an oversized rain-head shower, plush towels, towel warmers and a full line of luxury amenities and toiletries. Robes and slippers are provided to help make your stay more comfortable. Our signature breakfast is a served meal with standard items like made-to-order eggs, breakfast meats (vegetarian substitutes as well), hash-browns, and biscuits. We offer serve-yourself local pastries, artisan breads, local jams, fresh fruit, cereals, and yogurts. There will also be rotating specials of Chef Paul's favorite dishes from around the world. Breakfast is every morning from 8:00-10:30. We offer juices, teas, milk, water, sodas, and freshly ground coffee. Be sure to let us know if you have any dietary allergies or special requests and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Our staff is friendly, fun and always professional. We say hello, pay attention to the details, and will resolve any guest issues with prompt attention. We will go out of our way to help you enjoy your stay. Let us give you a warm WELCOME to Put-in-Bay's only boutique hotel!

From check in to check out this place was 5 stars. So beautiful and so clean. The State Room (the room we stayed in) was so comfortable and the deck facing town just added to the already amazing room. The bed was so comfy. The bathroom was huge . And out of sight there is a mini fridge with cold water in it, a coffee maker with pods and creamer, and safe to use if needed. And you can also find fresh coffee down in the lobby every morning along with fresh fruit, bagels, etc. The breakfast menu has so many options and the choices my husband and I made each morning were delicious. And last but not least, the owner cares about his guests and making their stay the best ever. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

This place was absolutely awesome the price was right it is so beautifully decorated our bedroom was extremely nice and very comfortable beds very nice linens first class all the way Joey and Bill were awesome. They loaned us bikes for the day we ran into an issue they came to pick us up in just a few minutes took us back to the hotel breakfast was really good we had cheese blintz we had French toast with bananas we had scrambled eggs and it all was very very good. We would highly recommend this place it’s close to downtown but far enough away that you don’t hear the partying on Friday and Saturday nights.

This 9 room hotel offered an exceptional atmosphere for the four of us during the week rather than the weekend.

Being veterans of Put-in-Bay, we wanted to stay during a much quieter time rather than the weekend. Our friends and us found the Anchor Inn on line, not realizing it had been there for years.

Our rooms were beautiful, up to date, exceptionally clean, with our bed as comfortable as any I had slept on.

Paul the owner was there and was really nice to talk to. He is also the morning chef and he can cook! Our breakfast (omelet’s especially) we’re fantastic. The breakfast fare was very good with made to order eggs, FRESH pastries, an assortment of fresh fruit, and of course coffee.

There is no pool which was fine for us. Our days were consumed by visiting the islands around us and some limited shopping. We didn’t take a car and a golf cart for 4 was all we needed for transportation.

There are different rooms with the same amenities. Ours faced the street and was on the second floor. There was a walkout “deck” and seating for 4. This was nice during the evening to people watch and to enjoy a cocktail. Our room was a bit more, price wise, but it was bigger, had a bigger bathroom and the outside sitting area sat 4 comfortably. The other outdoor sitting areas had two chairs.
I could go on but I think I covered the important stuff.
Are we going back? Oh YEA!! We for sure are going to book earlier since anyone who stays, will be going back. I have stayed at many places at put in bay, most are marginal and cater to a much younger crowd that sleep many to a room! And until now there wasn’t a bed worth sleeping on. We travel a lot and Put in Bay was not on the radar. But our friends thought the Anchor Inn was a good bet. It was and we will be going back. One last thought, there is no elevator but they have a small dumbwaiter to take your bags to the upper floors. No lugging bags up stairs!

All in all a very nice place to stay and after 30+ years of going to the bay, this by far was the best.

I’ve never stayed on the island before and was looking for a small staycation. After reviewing several places, I landed on the Anchor Inn and I’m glad that I did. It is a nice quaint place. It is clean and up to date and the breakfast is very good with nice options. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. Each room has an outdoor seating area which was a perfect way to end the day. The beds and linens are comfortable, too. You can hear some of the other guests, but since this isn’t a part place to stay, most were settled in at a decent time and then it was silent. I would recommend!

What a great find on this little island. Definitely for grown ups. The place is beautiful and the owner’s hospitality is wonderful. Their First Mate’s suite is on the third floor with a balcony that overlooks the quiet street and all the flowers planted here. Very pretty and serene. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast served is very tasty and they offer quite a bit on their menu as well as self serving. Staff were very pleasant and kind. They have a dumbwaiter to take your luggage to the third floor which was very convenient. We could walk to a very fine dining restaurant Goat Soup and Whiskey. Open for lunch and dinner. Five star B&B for sure! We were there on a Wednesday and Thursday. Island was not crowded, yet!

We stayed here for two nights and loved it. It was the romantic place that had been advertised and the room was spotless. We had a balcony outside and a king bed. The staff of young ladies was superb as they were helpful and friendly. They actually wore two hats since they tended to the rooms and helped with breakfast service as well. The owner is the chef and the complimentary cooked to order breakfast cannot be beaten. The only possible down side was that it was prime mayfly season and they were all over the island. The location of the hotel is great as it is in a residential area, but a block from the downtown area with all the restaurants and shops. There is a golf cart rental across the street and we used one. This vacation (anniversary) trip will be repeated for sure.

Walls r thin. Could hear EVERYTHING in the next room.

Staff was nice. But u had to ask a few times for simple items as we r almost outta toilet paper for example.

If you stay here, bring ur own sheets, table runner for the dresser, towels etc etc. We got an additional $300 charge on our room because there was a pizza stain on the sheets, pea size lotion stain on the runner, etc etc that they automatically charged. Don’t u try to get out stains? The owner was ridiculous. No reasoning with him cause it’s their policy. We spent over $1000 for room. Then an extra $300 for bedding and a table runner. Ridiculous.

We have traveled all over the world these past 30 years and have never ever experienced anything like this. It’s too bad cause its location is good. Breakfast is just as good.

Planning on bringing both of our families back to Put in Bay but we won’t b staying here. Disappointing to say the least.

Thank you for the kind words about our staff and breakfast service. Regarding the charges for damaged items, these amounts are listed in our guest books and as a business we do have policies so there is no misunderstanding between us and our guests. We are a boutique hotel that prides itself on the pristine condition of our rooms. Cleanliness and comfort are always in the forefront of our mind. We use tested techniques to launder our linens and room décor so they are clean and ready for all of guests to enjoy. However, we could not clean the excessive pizza oil that had soaked through the comforter and linens to the mattress protector. Unfortunately, the multiple lotion stains would also not come out of the dresser runner.

This place is a gem. Great location within walking distance to town and all restaurants, bars etc. If you’d like to explore further and rent a golf cart, the Golf Cart Depot is right across the street. Our family of 5 (3 adult children) stayed in the Wee Anchor Cottage, which had plenty of room. The service was great and the breakfast is spectacular - made to order by Chef Paul. And the menu is impressive- the chilaquiles and Dutch Baby were my favorites. Will definitely return!
