I have 2 children, 3 and 6, and this was the perfect vacation. The cottages were clean and cozy, the staff were amazing and wonderful with children. Beach chairs are on the beach, as well as an assortment of sand toys for children, and a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. There was a volley ball net on...

I stayed here on a cross-country trip while visiting the village of Mitiwanga, where my favorite aunt had spent time as a girl. (Her photos from 1926 show a place little different from today.) Lakeland was close by, so I booked a room for convenience. It turned out to be a destination itself -- a clean, simple little cabin on...

We have visited Lakeland Lodges several times over the years and are always amazed at how relaxing it is to sit, have a glass of wine and enjoy the sound of the waves. Our most recent visit this past weekend was as enjoyable as always and had the added benefit of seeing a bald eagle pull a fish out of...

We loved our stay at Lakeland Lodges. It was our first trip to the area and this was a perfect place to stay. Wonderful owners answered our many questions when we called to book. The cottages themselves are quaint and old-fashioned in the best sense. We like to make our own breakfasts and lunches and splurge on dinners and the...

My husband, two kids, and I spent two nights here while on vacation. We spent 5 nights at a fancy hotel in downtown Cleveland before here. We were going to cedar point and this is closer than Cleveland but outside of the tourist trap of Sandusky. This is the perfect place to actually relax. I am going through some heart...

My sister-in-law got married in Alaska a few years ago, and she put up the whole family in a wonderful B & B which had been built by the owner and his father and featured a central spiral staircase built around a single 4-story tree trunk. Each room was different, and it was a quirky and fun place to stay....

We have vacationed at Lakeland Lodges for many years and request the same cottage year after year. We travel five hours to get there and count down to the moment we can unpack and pour a drink and sit and relax as we watch the sun set over the lake. It reminds us of simpler times when vacations were about...
