I understand that the choices are limited in Stroud, but I think that they use that to their advantage and don't try! The reception staff were not friendly or helpful. The rooms are old and basic. While I was still in bed, someone keyed into our room and entered (never even knocked) and it was 9am (not as though we were in the room beyond checkout). Also, toiletries are very limited, so be sure to pack your own.
We were all prepared to stay here. I had called earlier in the day and was a wee bit peeved by the way I was talked to on the phone when booking. Basically, she couldn’t be bothered. Nevertheless, I thought, well maybe she’s having a bad day. So, we appear after driving 71/2 hours through the pouring rain. Walked up to the counter to meet the lady receptionist, who seemingly can’t be bothered even smiling. Find out, there is no breakfast as advertised, this slowly goes downhill. We were very pleasant, but after a couple of minutes, it wasn’t working for us and we said thank you very much and went over to the Hampton Suites, for $10 a night more. Not a place I would bother even pulling off the highway for! This place is on its last legs I think. No wonder!
We were looking for a pet friendly place and the Hampton in town isn't, old reviews suggest that it may have been in the past. Our room was on the southeast side and the proximity to the turnpike is a mixed blessing. It was quite loud. The staff was great. Despite being old the hotel has electronic proximity keys rather than metal ones.
overnight stay with dog. Nice room with jetted tub. Pool was great. Staff could have been friendlier, but ok. Restaurant was closed. Wanted to stay outside of OK City . This worked. We were in the end room on the pool side. It was quiet. Air conditioner was a little noisy.
This is a great place to stop on a road trip. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. My dog was welcome & there is nice field to walk the dog in safely - away from traffic! The price was just right. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Lucky we stopped on our road trip and stayed here! Pet friendly lodge, Tim at the front office was very friendly and accommodating with room selection. The restaurant had a nice breakfast in the morning, wish there were more of these as we would search for them at every stop. It has a very country feel, gives off a homely vibe. Prices were very reasonable. Lots of trucking space, there were a few trucks when we stayed. Got the optional jacuuzi room upgrade and had a very restful night.
They charged me for the room, I visited the room it was awfully dark, smelly, old, uncomfortable. The lady at the front desk said she would credit my card, after I toild her I wasnt going to stay there. She never credited my card. She lied and I've been trying to get my moneys back since.
This used to be a best western years ago, I don't think there have been any updates in years. There is quite a bit of room for semi truck parking, but I don't think I can stay there anymore. The west facing rooms are left with the A/C turned off, and the curtains wide open to really heat up the room. I literally had to sit in a chair next to the A/C unit for at least 2 hours on a 98° day. It was still too warm to sleep. I have had to leave winter thermal socks on in the winter for the same reason, it takes forever to warm up too. When I got up to take a shower I noticed a roach ground into the tile, so I don't think the floor had been mopped. I saw another large dead one in the closet. Glad I didn't see them the night before, or I never would have slept at all. For being conveniently located, this place is now more of a hassle than it's worth! …
It's not a bad place to stay. It's not updated and it seriously needs updating but people are friendly and it's close to the freeway. The restaurant is not open for dinner every day so check ahead of time.
This hotel must be privately owned. They have accommodations just like the commercial lodges, but the service is more personal. Pet Friendly for our 14 year old tag along. Incredible Western Themed Restaurant that is open for breakfast & a buffet lunch. Highly recommend for the one stop you need or the business hotel you will enjoy.
