Wonderful little hotel on the river in Bend. We were there on a busy weekend because of Valentines Day so it was at full capacity. The rooms are clean, location is fantastic and the breakfast in the morning is wonderful!! The ONLY complaint I would have is the room above us and the amount of noise they were putting out. Next time I would opt for an upstairs unit because you can hear everything coming from upstairs. Indoor pool, two hot tubs and a sauna room. What more could you ask for?

Check-in was fast but the guy at the front desk had his brain somewhere else. He didn't listen to my questions on Bend and gave me wishy-washy answers. My room was spacious and very quiet. The bathroom had large nice towels but no shower mat or hefty safety bars in the shower. The bed was very comfortable and had a spare pillow in the drawer. Wifi was okay but not real fast. Overall, the property had a tired feeling and needed a spruce up.

I spend 100+ nights per year in motel/hotel rooms. Honestly this was my first stay at a Shilo property in 12 years. Was like a time warp to the early 80's???
The Good Stuff: Mid-week rate of $87.00. The 2 front desk employees I encountered were friendly and profressional. Property looks well cared for and even pretty on the outside. Free hot breakfast, drink coupons and internet are much appreciated and adds to its value.
Areas of Concern: Rooms, restaurant and lobby are EXTREMELY dated and dark. Not happy or welcoming at all. Air/heating unit in our room was loud and had a difficult time maintaining temp. Property uses "real" room keys. Door to room difficult to open/lock likely due to the extreme weather/seasons in Bend. Bed, linens and pillows were cheep/of poor quality. Breakfast was short staffed with only one person.

Stayed at Shilo/Bend many years ago and did not hesitate to book for a recent trip (9/4-9/7). Unfortunately, the day before arrival I read recent reviews on this platform and two others. I was horrified and did NOT want to keep the reservation! This is a truthful assessment of our visit, specific to our room: Upon arrival (a bit before the 4pm check in) we were greeted warmly and directed to building 400, room 421. I expected the worst and found the room to be … adequate. This is not the Ritz - or even a Sleep Inn. It’s a low quality accommodation in a resort community that should either close completely or undergo a massive rejuvenation …. The real estate has value and is being wasted on this facility. The carpet appeared to be quite new and, after tearing the bed apart, I found the bedding clean and fresh. The bathroom is so so old - but it was clean. Sinks and toilet are very low in height but water pressure was quite good in the sinks and shower. Again, the bathroom was clean. I wouldn’t eat off the floor, but still… The AQI level in Bend was consistently hazardous so sitting on the deck overlooking the river was not possible. There were cobwebs visible along the ceiling beam, around the patio doorframe but the only insects we saw were some weird little black gnats in the sink when we arrived. They didn’t fly around, though they had wings, and we quickly eliminated them with extreme prejudice . Never saw them again. The appliances were clean but I was shocked to see glass coffee mugs and water glasses. Pretty sure that’s completely unsanitary, and a violation of Covid protocol. We bought bottled water & a couple of disposable coffee cups, which I would recommend regardless. The towels were surprisingly nice but, since there is no daily housekeeping, you have to ask the front desk to have them replaced. After reading many of the reviews that talked about the staff, I expected to be treated poorly. Nothing is further from the truth. ALL of the staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The indoor pool & hot tub were open, and very clean. I doubt we’ll stay there again, and I can’t speak to any other buildings or rooms, but our visit was …. tolerable.

Booked two rooms each with two queen beds for two nights. Carpet in both rooms was grotesquely filthy with stains. In the worst room trash can had not been emptied, many dead bugs in kitchenette drawers. Smoke alarm dangling by wires from the ceiling, one light fixture broken and missing bulb and no blanket on beds. Corner of one box spring mattress visibly broken down. Shared the many issues with front desk, they gave us two different rooms that were better, however one double queen room had only one bath towel. Ownership/management desperately needs to invest in maintenance, repairs and adequate housekeeping staffing....before they expect quests to willing pay to stay in their filthy run down hotel. There are other hotels in Bend. Wouldn't recommend anyone staying here. Only plus is location next to river.

I have never reviewed a hotel before but felt I needed to on this place. It is filthy! Spills not wiped up under the "kitchen" sink. Something that dribbled down the side of the nite stand that is still there. No hand soap so I am having to use the tiny bottle of shampoo. No USB plug-in port even though the front desk says there "must be one somewhere." The only drinking glass in the room is a glass one in the kitchen with a piece of cellophane over it. No way am I touching that. There is no guarantee that it has been washed properly. The tub is horribly stained and there is a piece of plastic, or something, in the drain. The bed feels broken down with little support. Short black hairs (eyelashes? dog?) on the top sheet. This is the type of place where you keep your shoes on for fear of walking on the grungy carpet. The front desk is very nice and it is in a good location. A pretty setting actually. But holy moly! The cleanliness of the rooms is a nightmare. This just shouldn't be. This will be my one and only stay at Shilo Inns.

While the room was clean, for a "kitchen suite" there were no basic supplies for me to use such as bowls, plates or eating utensils, which I was counting on. When I asked for some, I was told that it would take 24 hours to fulfill that request. My room did not receive any service at all and I had to argue to have my room coffee updated. Each afternoon I had to have my key reprogrammed to get into my room (1 time is okay but not everyday). Most of the staff was unresponsive and apathetic to addressing the situation. I would avoid this hotel due to lack of service and false advertising.

Deplorable rude unprofessional disgusting. it was a 4 o’clock check-in and by 6:30 they were still telling us our room wasn’t ready because they had no staff that could help. While I was standing in the lobby a lady came in to get towels because there was no towels in the room the girl at the front desk went back into the office area grab the towels off of the floor and came out and handed them to the lady in a wad didn’t fold them dirty towels off the floor we waited until 9 o’clock in our room still was not ready and they were rude to us hung up on us

I stayed here about 20 years ago and it was a fairly nice place, how times have changed. When we stayed recently, our room door was open upon arrival. We called the front desk and were told sometimes the cleaning crew doesn’t close the doors and were asked if the room looked clean…I told them we had just gotten there and the bed was made but hadn’t had time to inspect the room. Upon further inspection there were dead insects everywhere (beds, phones, lamps, in cobwebs, curtains), stains on the carpets and beds and cobwebs everywhere. The coffee maker was filthy. When we asked for a different room they switched us without checking IDs. We walked to the new room (right next door) and sure enough the door was left opened on that room as well. There were more dead insects, stains and this time hair (not from us). The cleaning crew left extra pillow cases on the microwave by mistake. Both rooms had horrible tv reception, clocks constantly giving off static and each room had 2 total towels. It was the middle of the night and we were only staying for one night or else we would have left in a heart beat. I know you get what you pay for but the room cost $300 for the night, an unbelievable price to pay to stay in a garbage can. I 100% recommend paying a little more and staying anywhere else. We woke up first thing and couldn’t leave fast enough.

We've chosen Shilo Inns in other towns because we like them and the fact that they offer a military discount for my husband. I booked the room on the hotel's website (not a third party) and was surprised I couldn't find the military discount offered. When we checked in we asked for the discount and we were told that we would need to send an email to the hotel manager asking for a credit since I booked through their website. The rooms are old and need updating/painting and refurbishing. The carpets were filthy and not completely vacumed. The television remote was missing. Only one wash cloth available. Sliding glass door to the patio was dirty. Disappointing stay. The check in person was very nice however.

Personally I would book by telephone to the front desk staff and get a person-to-person understanding of what to expect on arrival. Get a name, and then on arrival confirm the details promised in the reservation phone call. And don't pass on that breakfast -- the buffet is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. It's a proper restaurant meal.
