Waypoint has it dialed. Great contemporary remodel of a Red Lion...Nice rooms, great beds, friendly and responsive staff, great selection of local ciders and beers on tap for a very reasonable price that can be enjoyed in a cool contemporary lobby or well-heated outdoor lobby with multiple fire pits. I saw a pad being poured by the entry for inclusion of a food truck which will up their game even more. Good central location--perfect basecamp for golfing, biking, skiing, hiking...or just enjoying Bend and Central Oregon. Don't hesitate to check this one out.

We recently stayed here while visiting family who live in a retirement community. We have two small dogs and needed a pet friendly hotel. Waypoint fit the bill.

It's a former Red Lion hotel that has been remodeled over the last year or so; it's modern, has beer and cider that you can get in the lobby, and it's reasonably priced.

The pet friendly rooms have laminated flooring instead of carpeting to facilitate easy cleanup. I believe all pet rooms are located on the first floor for ease of access to the dog area, which is small but at least they have one.

The hotel provides "to go" breakfast consisting of yogurt, cereal, granola, hard boiled eggs, juice, and coffee.

A good deal and good location.

They did a fantastic job of remodeling the old red lion. Beautiful, cozy lobby where they serve wine and beer on tap. The rooms are practically brand new, spotless, and have the appearance of being upper scale. We have paid much more for rooms that don’t even compare. Slept great. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly. Checked in and out online. Will stay here every time we are in Bend. Great find!

We came to Bend, Oregon to ski Mt Bachelor with family. Our niece found this place as an affordable stay with amenities, as close to the mountain as possible. The first view was clean and modern, with a restaurant available across the parking lot and a food truck in the lot. The lobby was inviting, as well as indoor seating for eating and gathering. The outdoor patio had 3 fireplaces and plenty of seating. The room, however, was beyond expectation! Large, clean, thoughtful appointments, designed for a skier. Gone are the traditional set of drawers and desk, although there were two drawers and a safe. The wall was dedicated with shelves made for holding ski stuff: skis and boots in a waterproof tray, hooks for holding jackets, poles and shelves for helmets, gloves, etc. The very comfortable bed was clean, the bathroom was clean with a large, low lip, tiled shower; the sink sported a large mirror with a lighted frame. The furnace was not a traditional, noisy unit near the entrance, but a newer, quieter one tucked under the counter. It was quite adequate. I loved the mountain graphic on the wall over the bed.

We selected Signature Bend based on some decent reviews and it looked like they had recently remodeled.
We found the Staff to be pleasant and courteous when we checked in but that was the only thing that we liked about our stay.

We requested a ground floor room because we're both having knee problems and they don't appear to have elevators. They gave us a room in their Garden Section, telling us it's on the ground floor.
It's not, it's in the basement, 20 steps downstairs.
Our room appeared to have new floors and newer furniture but everything else there was from the original property (1972, possibly?). The bathroom has a toilet and shower separated by a door, which is nice, but the tub/shower doesn't look like it's been properly scrubbed in at least a month! Also, walking barefoot through the room resulted in our bath towels turning black, so I get the impression that the floor could also use some attention.
To top it off, I found that there's a back door to that basement floor that leads directly to the street (parking is allowed), but nobody told us about it! At least that made it easier to pack up our stuff and get out of there!

Our reservation was for 3 nights so we called the front desk to cancel our next two nights. Unfortunately we were 2 hours late to cancel the next night so we were only able to cancel the 3rd night.
We still checked out the next day without staying that 2nd night.

We found a newer Holiday Inn farther south that was only $14/night more so we stayed there instead. We're very glad we made the switch and I won't miss that $115 so much that I would have endured those conditions for 1 more night!

Don't bother with The Signature, go to the Holiday Inn instead. You'll be glad that you did.

I would not recommend this hotel. Next time I plan on reserving the hotel near the river or near the Old Mill district and pay a little extra. Waypoint Hotel is a clean, renovated hotel on a business 97 street in Bend, Oregon. I have been to many similar hotels in central Oregon, and the Oregon coast, the US, and other countries, as well. I do not typically rate a hotel very low, but...
Pros: nice clean room, ours had two double beds for two adults, comfortable beds with plenty of pillows, good size TV, no HBO but local and cable stations, bathroom was clean, beer available at front lobby (nice touch), lobby set up nicely renovated with comfy hang out places. I liked how it looked, modern, comfortable, renovated.
Cons: we were given one quote and things changed when we arrived. We called the office the day before arriving, reserved the room with a quoted price $95 plus tax including a pet fee due to the Black Friday specials, Cassie helped with this and she was very professional. The next day we arrived but we were charged $70 more than our initial quote. When I saw the Visa alert on my emails, I went to the front office and asked why I was charged so much, and the gentleman (no name provided, no name tag, redheaded man) said that Cassie would not have quoted me that price for a one night stay. I told him she did, and he said he could lower the price to $80 with another $35 for the pet fee. This was the same as a nearby hotel that was closer to a park, and not on a business street in Bend, and I would not have stayed there if I was given this higher price when I made my initial reservation the day before. Another thing; if you go here, do Not get a room with an internal door between your room and the next room over. I was reading at night, and was able to hear a man's voice while he was on his phone, and heard noises and groans later in the evening from his intimate visitor or his wife or whatever, way to easy to hear. I turned the TV on to block out the noise. I tucked a towel along the bottom of the door to eliminate noise but that didn't work. We were too tired and settled in to request a room change by that time of night but I would think that this hotel was not crowed and they would have been able to spread out there customers a little more (this was the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
We will be back in Bend over the winter, for our visits with our college-bound daughter, and plan on checking out other hotels next time.

Dear 3rtw, I appreciate you taking the time to write this review and am pleased that you found your room clean, the beds comfortable and our lobby modern and comfortable. I am disappointed that you had issues with the rates quoted and experienced noise issues from the adjoining room. Because your review is anonymous, I am unable to look at your history and see when you stayed and what our rates were at that time. I do know that the pet fee is not included in our room rates and that they are always in addition to the rate. That may be where the rate confusion stems from. With respect to the connecting room, we are currently renovating all of our guestrooms and I am happy to say that we are eliminating all connecting rooms on the property. Connecting rooms typically have issues with noise unless they are rented together for an extended family or friends staying together. I am happy to talk to you further about your stay as I would like to win back your business. Please feel free to call me at the property. I can be reached at 541-382-7011. Regards, Desmond Mollendor

This is a fairly basic hotel with each unit opening to the parking lot. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The style is that new, modern open shelf look which actually works quite well. The staff is friendly and the lobby opens at 5am with a fireplace, lounge chairs and coffee witch is perfect for me who always wakes up before her husband. No free breakfast by the is Black Bear restaurant on the same property. Most rooms are set well back for the street. No elevator for 2nd story.

We had stayed on this property years ago when it was a different hotel and WOW, what an incredible makeover and upgrade! I was genuinely surprised by the extensive renovation the Waypoint had undertaken and the results were impressive. I love the crisp, boutique feel of this property. All the staff we had interactions with were very pleasant, helpful, and responsive to requests.

Our room was very clean, quiet, and inviting. We had to travel north, east, and south for various reasons, and because we were conveniently located in the heart of Bend, we found ourselves within a very short drive to all of our destinations. I hope the Waypoint's future plans will include offering a free breakfast, or at least a light continental style breakfast. We definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there on our next trip to Bend!

Dear PantherFan33, Thank you for the 5 Star review! Your review and business is greatly appreciated. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and found your accommodations clean, quiet and our location convenient. I am also pleased that you found the renovations done to date impressive and that you were provided pleasant customer service from our team. Regarding breakfast, unfortunately, we do not plan on bringing this back. Our plan is to turn this space that was once used for serving breakfast into a lounge serving spirits and small plates. This project is slated to begin in January and open in March of 2024. Our food cart partner, MidCity SmashedBurger, will not only operate this new lounge; they will also unveil a new food cart that will not only serve their amazing burgers but will also begin serving grab and go breakfast items. This will be another breakfast option for our guests in addition to the Black Bear diner on our property which serves breakfast, lunch and diner. Once again, I greatly appreciate your kind review. Your feedback confirms all or our hard work and efforts are indeed working and that the guest experience is better because of it. My team and I look forward to welcoming you back! We were really pleased to find a hotel that didn't have carpet in the rooms, but we were disappointed that the floor was not clean. I always check the rooms before I let my pets in because I don't want to be responsible for damage done by the prior guest. We have two dogs and I know dogs can leave dust and dander every where they go, so pet friendly rooms really need to be mopped between guest. That's what the extra pet fee is suppose to cover. I did my usual, I swept the floor and had a good night sleep and didn't worry about my dogs spilling water on the uncarpeted floors . Beds were comfortable and the desk gave us a dog sheet even though our dogs sleep on the floor.
The shower head did not spay properly in the room we were in and the air conditioner was really loud.
