Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was exceptional. Very close walking distance to river and Old Mill District and not far from downtown (still walkable). Property was a little tired and needs some TLC especially for beds and lighting. Would still stay again.

Great spot, we were excited with the 24/7 hot tub and pool access. After working in town all day, we had dinner from the cafe which was awesome, relaxed, and dressed up and headed down to the hot tub. Unfortunately, on a thursday night at 9pm it was cold and marked 'closed for cleaning'. Utterly stupid, clean the damn thing in the middle of the day when everyone is out of their room, and have it ready at night. Or at the least, inform the people who paid for this that it isn't available and when it will be. This is a simple thing, we understand you have to clean the facilities, but do it when there is little interest in using the tub (like during the day, so it is available in the evening). Staff was polite about it, offering some discount, or even a drive to an adjacent hotel to use their tub (which is fairly impractical). Great spot, but the scheduling could certainly be managed better. It isn't rocket science guys, do your maintenance in the off hours, not at 9pm at night. dumb. frustrating. an avoidable conflict with some reasonable planning on managements part.

Overall a great spot, get your plan together and do your maintenance off hours so that folks can enjoy the facilities they PAID for in the evening as they should. Front desk staff did offer to reduce the rate, and/or arrange for another facility visit, which to me means they care. However, it doesn't 'fix the glitch' that should never have been a problem to start with.

I want to give praise to Sharon, the Front Desk Manager, who was very helpful when I thought I had booked a different Hilton property in town.

This is a good Hilton, with a pool, laundry and a workout room. Staff were very friendly. The rooms are large and well-maintained. There is a separate room where you can lock/store a bicycle or skis.

The hotel is on a slight rise above The Old Mill District, which is a new outdoor area with many shops and restaurants. There is also immediate access to the river trail for dog walking, running or bicycling.

Terrible customer service - very unhappy with the way they totally ignored our concerns about booking two very expensive rooms. Expected a balcony for the exorbitant price per night and got a dingy room overlooking a dirty roof. General manager could NOT have cared less how unhappy we were and treated us like we should be honored to be staying there. I will not go back and I’m a Hilton honors member!

We arrived around 7:30 to a completely full parking lot. We found out later it is because they sold all of their spots to concertgoers for the nearby venue. We were told we can just park somewhere by a curb which doesn’t inspire confidence to not be towed. At 10pm I went to see if we could move the car to an open spot hoping the lot had cleared. Still completely full. Absolutely shameful to place a few hundred dollars of one time parking revenue above the guests that are paying to stay there and cannot find a place to park at your free advertised lot. I’ve stayed at this hotel a lot, but this frequent visitor will be changing to the Marriott nearby from now on.

This is for the breakfast buffet:

One server, 1 cook

$10 per person

mini box cereals, toasts, muffins, English muffins, store-bought cinnamon rolls.

Apple, orange, cranberry juice and milk

Watermelon, honeydew melon, pineapple

Steel cut oatmeal. Yogurt.

We were told by the only server: since there is only 1 cook today and 1 server today, there is no bacon, sausage, pancake and waffles.

My coffee never came. Tables are dirty. I know, understaffed. But if the regular buffet has all those that were not served today because there is only 1 cook, this is not right.

It can be tough to find a place to stay when traveling with teenagers but Hilton has created the perfect hotel here in Bend. We stayed in the 2 story Loft Suite allowing for 2 separate bedrooms with TVs and a living room with a TV. Everyone had their own space and TV to watch. The hotel offered a breakfast and dinner casual restaurant which was perfect as we could go down and eat or have them bring up the food. The prices were appropriate and the food was excellent - my kids loved the Fish and Chips. I will look for this hotel style when traveling with my kids in the future.

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bend for our anniversary and we loved it here. When I checked in, the front desk staff was very friendly. He asked if I wanted a 3rd or 2nd floor room. We got the last 3rd floor room, and I'm glad I chose that one. I had booked a king bed with a balcony, and let me tell you it was worth every penny. Out on our balcony you can see the mountains in the distance and the river. It was fun to people watch and watch the sunrise and sunset every morning. It was beautiful.

The room itself had just been renovated, and it was a really nice room, but there were a couple things that I think could have made our stay even that much better.
When we arrived and got into our room, the carpet was really dirty. There were some huge patches of stains on it near where the fridge is (and when I opened the fridge it smelled really bad) and when we got in, there were some crumbs on the floor in a few places which told met the room had not been vacuumed. I did call down the front desk to ask if we could get it vacuumed, and they sent someone right away, and they didn't make me feel bad for asking, they just replied with a quick "I'm sorry about that, we will send someone up right away!" The staff that came and did vacuum for us didn't' seem bothered by it at all and was super friendly as well. Great customer service handing this.

We were also disappointed that we didn't sleep very well, as the bed was kind of hard and pretty uncomfortable (the pillows were great). The sheets kept coming off the mattress as well on the bottom and up by the pillows, which is one of my biggest pet peeves.

The shower also looked like it had not been updated with the rest of the room, because the shower tile had bits of mold in the corners.

However, with those small cons, the view, the location and the staff made up for it. We did have dinner and drinks both nights we were there in the hotel lobby. It's not a formal restaurant, just some tables and chairs, but the ambiance is still really pretty and the food is fantastic. Our waitress/bartender both evenings, I can't recall her name, was awesome. She was super friendly and efficient. We loved sitting downstairs. However, for someone who would be pretty COVID paranoid, the spacing of the tables were kind of close to each other, so it may make some people uncomfortable if it is crowded.

We will hopefully stay again when we come back!

This is a very solid HGI. Similar to the other Garden Inns, the lobby and public spaces are somewhat nicer than the rooms. Checkin was uneventful and underwhelming. No mention of HH diamond status and no upgrade. I'm sure with less than normal COVID traffic they could have managed at least a riverview room, or brought the amenities to the room to make it a "premium room", but no effort was made. Rooms are fine just nothing special. Relatively recently upgraded but definitely mid-range and not higher. Weird metal bed base that makes a noise every time you get on or off it. Big room that had little furniture in it; could easily have accomodated a nice sofa and table (a big plus when dining in room due to COVID) but instead just empty space and one armchair plus small desk. Bathroom updated but old fashioned. Day time staff was friendly and helpful, night time not so much. Room servicing was by request only, and the one time we asked for it they did very little so we didn't bother again. Breakfast staff was great, and we were very satisified with the breakfast provided. In fact, having travelled a lot for work and leisure during COVID I would say it was the best breakfast provided under the circumstances. Full sit-down hot breakfast, good distancing between tables, safety protocols, and a small but nice menu with some options for vegetarians. The location is also really great, right by the river and Old Mill section, though I have to say we quickly realized there was no dining or shopping of interest in this area (mostly big chain brands) and the restaurants and coffee houses we liked were downtown, not in Old Mill. But it's close enough to walk, and a lovely area for a run or stroll along the river. Good value rates, good breakfast and good location made it a solid four for us.

We've stayed at this hotel a couple times previously and were again pleased with our visit this time.
Our room was very spacious (King) with what seemed to be extra wide doors. Appointed nicely with a comfortable occasional chair and accompanying small table. We appreciated the small refrigerator for our water and energy drinks.
The primary downside to the room was the low level of lighting. The room could definitely use at least one more substantial table or floor lamp.
The lobby is extremely nice and a comfortable place to gather and socialize.
We took advantage of the breakfast option and really appreciated the positive spirit of the clearly short-handed staff.

What is the fee for breakfast? Is it continental or does it include hot options?
Answer from Lara R
Bend, Oregon
Breakfast in the Garden Grille does not come with the room unless a "Bed and Breakfast" package has been booked. At Gold and Diamond Hilton Honor levels, breakfast becomes an option of benefits to choose from. Breakfast is made to order at $11.95. There is a continental option at $6.95 as well- coffee and fruit are always complimentary!
