Tetherow Hotel boasts a prime location with scenic views that consistently impress guests. The atmosphere is often described as inviting, with cozy rooms that feature thoughtful touches like fireplaces. However, opinions on service and value diverge; while some guests commend the attentive staff, others experience inconsistencies, and many question the hotel's value for money.
Room comfort receives praise, though noise and other issues are noted. Amenities like the heated pool satisfy most, despite some wanting more variety. Cleanliness is a standout, with many visitors enjoying immaculate facilities.

Detailed Reviews
The larger rentals had decent pricing and were large enough for several families for the week. Rooms were even big enough for young children to come along, too. The trail system and scenery were incredible. One of the best things was the ability to avoid the traffic in town if we wanted to go hiking or to Mt. Bachelor.
The house did have a few minor things wrong with it. The cushions on the outdoor couch and chairs were torn in several places. The builder must have cut a few corners, since several doors would not close (strike plate in wrong place), blinds had missing cords, and the dishwasher bottom plate was not properly secured. I would expect a little more from a "luxury" area.
A couple things to note from the "fine print" that could create minor hassles if you book here... there is no complementary housekeeping service at all (must pay $90 or $145 depending on the level of cleaning). So bring your own stuff like paper towels, garbage bags, toilet paper, and shampoo. You might even consider a vacuum, too. Each room also only has two sets of towels. The pool hours are a little odd, and some may be expecting a much bigger pool and fitness center compared to other resorts in the region.

Pros:
Modern corner deluxe room with King bed with modern queen/ full pull-out sofa bed. Room in excellent conditions, Very cozy. Very inviting. Great size with fire place. Great modern and spacious bathroom. In a very quiet area of the hotel, and with view on the golf course (which during wintertime is empty).
Great grounds. Ideal location: Close to downtown restaurants & shops (10 min drive max) and to Mount Bachelor (20min drive on clear conditions). Right on the main road to it. Great proximity to many hiking and mountain bike trails that start right outside your room or house.
Accept dogs, and during winter are very flexible with leaving them unleashed under control. We never got any remark on letting our dog wander under our supervision on the golf courses covered in snow. They also give you a room on the ground floor with very easy access to outside, which is very convenient to get your pet out.
Cool staff very helpful at their restaurant (called The Row for the sports bar type one and called Solomon for the fancy one)
Cons:
Unlike any other hotel I have been to in my life, there is no roll away bed available despite being requested 1 month prior, when booking. No possibility from the staff to provide any additional mattress either at all. It just does not exist. It was frustrating as I requested this very early and I was not informed it was not possible. So, if you have 2 kids like us (or more), they will need to sleep on the queen size/full size sofa bed together, or floor, which can be challenging sleep wise depending on your kids' size and how much they move and affect their sleep quality...so plan 2 rooms or a house which can get pricey. Note: The hotel staff gave us a 10% discount to make up for it without us asking for anything. So that was appreciated as the room was still great despite this inconvenience for us.
Also, No entertainment for kids other than pool and jacuzzi which in summer can get crowded (we went there during that time too) but not during our February winter break. No game room, no pool table, no ping pong tables. no shuffle boards. etc....unlike competitors like Brasada ranch for example)
Overall, I highly recommend that place if you can afford it and will continue to be a repeat customer. If you want to be close to the main outdoor attractions like Mount Bachelor, and want to have a modern, beautiful and luxurious cozy resort.

Easy check in and friendly staff. Room was clean. Very quiet (even with golfers outside) never heard them or bothered by it. It was nice to sit on back patio and watch the golfers tee off. pool and gym were very nice. WE had a great time and would go back.

Room is not soundproofed: you can hear people above you walking & what I think was luggage rolling around; anything and everything that happens in the hallway. It is not resort view, rather a view of the parking lot: you can hear people at their cars, alarms etc. If it's windy the windows shake in the frame. Heating is inconsistent, the controls are dated and don't work properly. There is no heating in the bathrooms. Wifi is spotty. You have to walk outside across the property to get to the pool/hot tub from your room. The only option that is open for breakfast does not have smoothies which is surprising given the resort seems to be health focused. There is no protein in the one vegan dish offered, but the chef was accommodating and made a custom vegan plate of veg, fruit and potatoes. Hotel staff is inconsistent and seems improperly trained. They only put in extra effort when there were problems and lacked follow through to ensure the experience is rectified.
This property would be good for heavy sleepers who like a cold room; prefer minimal interaction with staff; and don't require wifi on their phone during their stay. I've rated this as poor because you are not getting what you pay for, if the expectation was lower my rating would be different.

This place is not worth the money if you want to get pampered - it did not have the level of hospitality I expected from a "luxury hotel." Throughout our stay, even though we only inquired about a few basic hotel perks, we felt like an inconvenience to the staff.
We stayed onsite in a king bed room. The room was all right, but the tv did not work. The room was also not particularly clean: there were a number of gnats on the bathroom sink, and it was evident that the dresser drawers had not been wiped down between guests. In the bathroom, the glass in the shower was dirty, and the grout was a dark brown.
I think we were even more disappointed by the customer service and lack of amenities. When we first arrived at 2:30 pm and were told that our room was not ready, we dined at the Row. There were at least five people on staff in the front, and only two other tables, but we still had to wait ten minutes to even get seated, and another ten or fifteen to order. The whole experience made us feel like we were inconveniencing them.
We experienced similarly slow service at the pool cafe that evening: two people working, no other customers in the vicinity, but it still took fifteen minutes to make us two cocktails. It's one thing if the place is busy, but that was not the case here.
The amenities are lacking as well. The hotel does not offer room service, despite having several restaurants onsite. Their main restaurant is closed. The pool was too crowded during the day (on a Monday afternoon, no less) to use. The resort brags about a shuttle service to downtown Bend, but it was wholly unavailable during our stay.
The resort has so much potential - thanks to the upscale buildings, location, and listed amenities - but the management and overall ambiance leaves much to be desired. We will stay elsewhere in the future.

Overall, people talk about Bend like it is home to the Second Coming-- its a nice mountain town but there are plenty as nice or nicer and much more affordable in the US.
Tetherow had multiple mistakes in our booking, in getting a room ready for us; AC was broken and we had to sleep in a 77 degree room sweating at night, our room was downgraded from our reservation with no later attempt to upgrade, food quality is a bit above a Denny's and buffets were cold on arrival from the kitchen, staff made a small token effort to fix things as long as it did not inconvenience them unduly much. Overall, the resort has a beautiful quaint appearance but for the cost, service and outcomes there are nicer places to stay in the area.

The grounds are gorgeous, we saw the most amazing sunsets and sunrises. We had a corner room overlooking the mountains in the Highlands building. Very cozy rooms & cozy bed. The downsides are that the grout in the shower was cracked in multiple areas and had a lot of mold growing on it so I had a pretty bad allergic reaction while I was there. Unfortunately you can tell they don’t maintain the grout in the shower, it was dirty grout throughout the bathroom. Also the countertops in the bathrooms were only wiped halfway, the back half was pretty dusty and had a line going across the counter where you could see they only wipe down the front part of the bathroom sink counter. Otherwise it was really nice! The Row restaurant was really good food and drinks, but a little crusty, a lot of our cups were dirty and they don’t ever answer the phone to do pickup orders. We tried multiple mornings. So we went to breakfast instead of pickup. Not a big deal, just not so convenient.

We stayed at Millhouse 5 and loved the big beautiful property near Mt Bachelor - about 20 mins and less than 10 mins from Bend. The only thing that could have been improved was black out shades in the main bedroom since the streetlight is bright outside but you can pack sleep mask otherwise. The resort brought us a pack and play, high chair and space heater for the baby. They even had a crockpot which was nice. You can communicate with the resort and concierge via text which was also convenient. There was plenty of space for us to all spread out which was nice 😊

We had a great stay at Tetherow. The location between Mt Bachelor and Bend is perfect. They offer a shuttle service to the mountain, so you can avoid the worst of traffic and all the hassle around driving and parking up there. After Full day of skiing it was relaxing to come back to a heated pool, hot tubs and spa. There are nice dining options on-site, but it’s also just a short drive to Downtown Bend, where we found many more other really great restaurants.

Tetherow was very enjoyable! The rooms are well appointed and quite deluxe—glass stemmed wine glasses and glass coffee mugs, fireplace, fluffy comforters... And the outdoor heated pool, hot tub and locker room complete with a sauna and steam room made the resort especially special! Loved swimming under the moon and stars!!
