Detailed Reviews
We have two kittens who are traveling with us. We chose the Campfire Hotel specifically because it referenced “pets” versus “dogs” in their hotel policies: “There is a $25 pet fee per night, per pet. Pets cannot be left unattended in the guest rooms at any time for any reason. Pets must be leashed and secured any time they are outside of guest rooms. Guests are responsible for clean up and all pet actions. Pets are not allowed in the hot tub/pool areas. Any additional cleaning due to a pet will be subject to up to a $250 fee.” We were shocked upon arrival to learn it is a “dog friendly” establishment rather than a “pet friendly” establishment as we were lead to believe by the hotel policies we reviewed. Perhaps it is important to add that the temperature in Bend drops to close to freezing overnight at this time of year. I would strongly suggest that clarification is required with the hotel policies as not everyone’s “pet” is a dog.

They do a great job of carrying the campfire theme throughout the facility and room. The room was spacious, with a comfortable king bed, and good sized TV. Bathroom was fine, with good water pressure. Parking is generally good on-site. We were here on Memorial Day Weekend and they were sold out, and the place was fairly noisy during the day and early evening (quiet hours beginning at 10 p.m. worked). The manager was quite attentive and responsive to a TV malfunction; much appreciated.

This boutique MOTEL, not hotel, is over-priced for what you really get. If you value fun, great! If your safety matters, find elsewhere to go.
Pro: boutique decor, location is near downtown Bend and Old Mill district. Response from management was quick and polite. Bar, fire pits, and pool area was nice but hot tub was not hot ( heated pool temp only).
Cons:
Thoughtful decor and finishing touches mask the sub par cleanliness; outdated A/C (loudness of it wakes you up); unsecured windows ( the windows were only secured by screws and could be opened from outside the room. The screws allowed the windows to open enough that someone can reach in and open the door. This is also a fire hazard since you can’t escape in case of fire); front desk staff at check out was not responsive to concerns and did not ask how my stay was; and there’s a homeless camp right next to the property. The $50 refund (after contacting them) management claimed to process is an insult to the real value of staying in this property.

Great concept, brilliantly organised and fun. This hotel sits opposite a strip mall safeway but it's like a little oasis. A bar, fire pit and really inventive rooms make it quite memorable. I made the mistake of walking across to their 'Fire on the mountain' restaurant to have dinner which was a mistake. There were much better options in the bar of the hotel itself. Their zero noise policy after 10pm was also a godsend as there was some very dodgy campfire singing coming from the fire pit up until 10. As a foreigner I loved their snack bar options too - cannibas gummies, homemade candles and soap. Lots to like about the Campfire.

What a nice place! We had the rooms above the canteen and therefore received free cocktails and earplugs. The latter were really not necessary, because it was quiet early. The hotel has a campfire every evening and on 1 of the 2 evenings we were there a musician played. The rooms are very spacious and neatly clean. Only the toilet is a bit small.

Stayed 3 nights. The vibe is hip and modern and young. Pool is fun and the food cart was tasty. The housekeeping was horrible. I realize there is a worker shortage but there is no excuse to have blood spots on the duvet and a dirty sock under the bed. I informed the front desk where they said they couldn’t deduct any money from the price of the room because it “was prepaid” (which it wasn’t) but I could have a free T-shirt and they would clean the room as soon as we left (9am). When we had returned to the hotel at 4pm the room was still untouched and housekeeping was gone. Disgusting! They pulled a woman doing laundry to come to the room and put on new bedding while we waited outside in the heat.

This hotel used to be a chain roadside motel. Whoever these Campfire People are, I really like them! They've redone an older motel and made it fresh and friendly.
The pool is a little cold for my taste, but the hot tub is perfect and there's plenty of room to be in a chaise lounge to get a few rays.
The rooms have USB chargers, comfy beds and tasteful touches like high quality pillows, folding chairs to use outside and decent soaps.
The main attraction is the campfire - a large propanne fire pit that runs daily from 4:00 to 10:00. The city of Bend requires them to shut down at 10:00, so get down there and roast a marshmallow before the fire gets turned off.
Our delux room came with a tuned guitar and balcony view of the pool. Pretty sweet.
Free coffee in the lobby 24/7. $20 buckets of beer, S'mores kits to go, mimosa kits to go too.

This is a great central location. Love the décor and the campfire pits for guest to sit around. Lobby was great - I had to work a bit and just sat in the Lobby while my friends slept. Bathrooms are small but work as the sink is outside of the bathroom with large area for toiletries. Parking is the only issue - limited space but we had no issues getting a space.

This place is cute and the staff are well-meaning. I probably would not stay again and I definitely would not stay for more than one night.
Things that are not cute:
•Not enough beach towels for the pool.
•Not enough room towels to get more than one per guest in your room.
•Having to go up to the front desk to retrieve things that should have been in the room but were not—like enough towels or hangers for the clothing rack.
•Competing with locals for the pool and hot tub (both pool club members and people sneaking into the pool).
•Pool doesn’t open until 9 am—as if adults don’t like to exercise in pools or relax in hot tubs before their day starts.
•No housekeeping during your stay—even if your stay is a week.
•King rooms that don’t appear to be designed to be King rooms, where the television is not centered in front of the bed and there is only one bedside lamp.
•Peeling wallpaper.
•Vintage bathroom fans—for that feeling of showering on a working airstrip.
•Vintage HVAC, so you can have nightmares about mold.
•Cutting off late checkout and not accepting late checkout requests before the morning of.
So yeah, it’s fine if you want cute selfies by the pool or whatever. If you’re actually looking for a place that can provide you a nice stay, I’d look elsewhere.

This is a great stay for single young adults who are looking for a sweet spot to hang out and get a buzz on. A super cool pool, hot tub and awesome fire pit. However, if you are traveling with your family and want a safe and clean place to relax and stay overnight you might give it a second thought. We reserved two king suites months ago and when we arrived late in the day to Bend. When we arrived we found a large homeless encampment lining the street on the back side of the hotel we were astonished! Both the rooms had bugs (similar to small box elder bugs) garbage from previous occupants was under the bed, bathtub would not drain do to hair build up, and a nice stain on carpet when you walked into the room The mini fridge was well stocked with a nice favorite of adult beverages and also a munchies box in the room with everything from chocolate bars potato chips, jerky and some CBD products. Im not judging just wanted you to be aware!
