The outside of the hotel and the location feel a little sketchy, but once inside the hotel feels very safe, secure, clean, and comfortable. The rooms were quiet, there was no smell of cigarettes or weed anywhere we went in the hotel. The breakfast bar was very good: make-it-yourself waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal packets, milk, soy milk, coffee, tea, and juices. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. The location was central to other parts of Bend, but the area isn’t pedestrian friendly.

The fridge/freezer were a good size, as was the microwave.

Our only quibble was having to request housekeeping twice during a 5 night stay. New towels, vacuuming, and emptying the trash seems reasonable to expect without having to ask specifically that it be done.

Overall, a safe and secure, clean, friendly, centrally located hotel with good amenities for families with children and those traveling with pets.

I love that it's pet friendly And the rooms do not smell like there have been dogs there before you. Staff was great to help me out with my dogs when I needed it. It was also nice to take my dogs out for a walk and pick up my dinner at the same time. It's a great place for the money.

We selected the La Quinta Inn and Suites because they allow pets and have a short cancellation policy of 24-hours prior to arrival. The location was very convenient for getting around Bend, only about 6 min from the Old Mill District and Old Bend. We stayed in a Deluxe Executive Room because my husband needed a desk while we were there, but the room had no desk. However, the bed was very comfortable and the room was a generous size.

This may be my last try with the La Quinta properties. The first impression is very poor. The property is overgrown with weeds. Some 2 feet tall.
You know it is a bad location when at the front desk there is a sign saying if you live locally ( within 50 miles) they require a $160 CASH deposit when checking in. What, luckily I don’t live local. They say this is because locals tend to trash the rooms??????
The room smells like wet dog and when I asked at the front desk for a different non pet room they advised all rooms are “pet friendly “. Ugh.
In the room there is an accent chair that is in bad shape, horribly frayed.

We often stay at budget hotels because we're low-key adventure travelers who are just looking for a clean room and a hot shower to end our day. An added bonus of this place was that it is dog-friendly and conveniently located near Mt. Bachelor. The prices and amenities were fair and the rooms (although not the cleanest we've seen) allowed us a decent night's sleep. The one major drawback was that we did not have hot water for our entire stay. I'm not talking about a lukewarm shower either, it was ice cold. We called and informed the front desk the morning of our departure, but it was never resolved. In the future, we'd probably try to find a different spot in Bend to crash at.

Jdbamonte, Please accept my apologies for the lack of hot water during your stay. The issues with our hot-water supply were unexpected, and getting the system repaired quickly was a challenge. However, we are glad to report that the hot water is flowing freely once more and we hope you will decide to give our hotel in Bend another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future.

This place has some of the worst staff ever. Please look into some of the recent customer interactions that have taken place over the past few months/year. There is nobody to regulate how the management handles their own problems in house. Wyndham denies any responsibility and the customer is left with NO recourse. That is ridiculous. Someone needs to protect the consumer. When an employee is brazen enough to throw their debit card on the floor then say "fetch it", you know he is confident that no consequence us ever going to come of what he does. And STILL nobody knows his name. He took off his name tag, or simply was not wearing one. Somebody please put this business in check....

I made a reservation for NYE, spoke TO THE MANAGER telling her 2 adults 3 teenagers, so I needed 2 beds and a couch or roll away bed. She told me she could accommodate me..I made the reservation. We check in and go to the room. There are 2 queen beds and a small chair. So I go to the desk and ask for a roll away bed. I was told they are not allowed to use roll away beds because the fire Marshall does not allow them. I explain that when I made the reservation I specifically said there were 2 adults and 3 children ages of 17,14&14. Why would she tell me they could accommodate that and not inform me that somebody would have to sleep on the floor, in order to accommodate? The front desk clerk was pretty snarky. So I asked if I could get a refund so I could find another hotel. She informed me she could only refund me if we weren't staying 🤔 ok Captain. She also informed me that no hotel would be able to accommodate 5 people in one room, that the max that can sleep in a room is 4 people just like their rooms.

I called Springhill Suites and sure enough, they had one suite left, with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. The room is gorgeous, comfortable, pretty view, able to sleep all 5 people comfortably, and only $10 more. The front desk staff is very friendly and offering to help with anything we might need.

If you call LaQuinta, make sure somebody won't be sleeping on the floor because if you do not specifically ask, you might be stuck.

Even though the lobby looked nice but the hotel has no elevator, so the staff expect you carry your own luggage down the stairs to your room. When we showed that we have handicapped placard the staff didn't care and basically said we are fully booked, take it or leave it. He also had a bad attitude.

Staff were very friendly. Hotel was short-staffed. Requested 1st floor room for senior citizen w/knee problems. Entered room to blood on dresser drawers, food in fridge, liquid grime splattered all over 3/4 of wall in room area, bathroom was egregious w/blood, urine, feces, grime all over toilet rim, grime & hair in sink, toothpaste grime all over faucet & splattered over most of the huge mirror on wall. Afraid to look at beds. Moved to room downstairs. No ADA accommodations, no elevator. Next morning waited 45 min for waffles, eggs & sausage to be refilled. Manager conveniently in meeting when checked out. No call from manager to refund partial $250+ room.

I stayed at this La Quinta for two nights on my solo hiking weekend in Bend. My stay, overall, was alright but there were some serious issues.

Firstly, I have to give a shout out to the front desk staff, both morning and evening, who were exceptionally polite and professional. I did not catch their names.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location tight off the main road, and there is ample parking, which was appreciated.

Due to Covid restrictions, the pool, hot tub, breakfast room and fitness room were closed. There was a take away breakfast, but the options were not great. Juice, pastry and orange. It would have been nice to have a milk option, and also maybe a bagel or other option without sugar.

Upon checking into my room, I immediately noted that the bathroom was exceptionally clean, which I appreciated. However, when I took a shower later in the evening, I learned that the shower curtain was too short to protect the water from the shower from going all over the floor, which was irritating. Not to mention that can't be good for the floor. Despite this, the water was hot. Sadly, on the second night, for whatever reason, the water was only lukewarm. I did not report it as it was late and I needed to be in bed early to get up early to go to Smith Rock State Park.

In the main area of the room, I had already unpacked when I opened the microwave to see it was visibly dirty. There was also trash in the bedside drawer.

Also, the heat did not work that great. I wouldn't say it was broken, it just didn't blow very hot air. The bed, however, was exceptionally comfortable, and the pillows were a perfect softness.

In summary, La Quinta could definitely improve on their amenities (such as heating), and their housekeeping staff clearly needs to be retrained (or perhaps paid more so they have more investment in doing their jobs throughly?), but their staff are exceptionally professional.

BeckyP11244, Thank you for your very thorough review. Our front desk team is amazing and we are so pleased that you were able to experience their warm hospitality! Comfort and cleanliness are very important to us and we are so sorry that we did not meet your expectations in these areas. We will be having maintenance inspect the HVAC unit as well look into the hot water issues that you mentioned. The housekeeping matters will also be reviewed by our housekeeping supervisor. These type of occurrences are not typical at our hotel and we appreciate that you brought them to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with the type of stay that you expect and deserve and hope that you will come back soon!
