The fridge/freezer were a good size, as was the microwave.
Our only quibble was having to request housekeeping twice during a 5 night stay. New towels, vacuuming, and emptying the trash seems reasonable to expect without having to ask specifically that it be done.
Overall, a safe and secure, clean, friendly, centrally located hotel with good amenities for families with children and those traveling with pets.

You know it is a bad location when at the front desk there is a sign saying if you live locally ( within 50 miles) they require a $160 CASH deposit when checking in. What, luckily I don’t live local. They say this is because locals tend to trash the rooms??????
The room smells like wet dog and when I asked at the front desk for a different non pet room they advised all rooms are “pet friendly “. Ugh.
In the room there is an accent chair that is in bad shape, horribly frayed.

I called Springhill Suites and sure enough, they had one suite left, with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. The room is gorgeous, comfortable, pretty view, able to sleep all 5 people comfortably, and only $10 more. The front desk staff is very friendly and offering to help with anything we might need.
If you call LaQuinta, make sure somebody won't be sleeping on the floor because if you do not specifically ask, you might be stuck.

Firstly, I have to give a shout out to the front desk staff, both morning and evening, who were exceptionally polite and professional. I did not catch their names.
The hotel is located in a very convenient location tight off the main road, and there is ample parking, which was appreciated.
Due to Covid restrictions, the pool, hot tub, breakfast room and fitness room were closed. There was a take away breakfast, but the options were not great. Juice, pastry and orange. It would have been nice to have a milk option, and also maybe a bagel or other option without sugar.
Upon checking into my room, I immediately noted that the bathroom was exceptionally clean, which I appreciated. However, when I took a shower later in the evening, I learned that the shower curtain was too short to protect the water from the shower from going all over the floor, which was irritating. Not to mention that can't be good for the floor. Despite this, the water was hot. Sadly, on the second night, for whatever reason, the water was only lukewarm. I did not report it as it was late and I needed to be in bed early to get up early to go to Smith Rock State Park.
In the main area of the room, I had already unpacked when I opened the microwave to see it was visibly dirty. There was also trash in the bedside drawer.
Also, the heat did not work that great. I wouldn't say it was broken, it just didn't blow very hot air. The bed, however, was exceptionally comfortable, and the pillows were a perfect softness.
In summary, La Quinta could definitely improve on their amenities (such as heating), and their housekeeping staff clearly needs to be retrained (or perhaps paid more so they have more investment in doing their jobs throughly?), but their staff are exceptionally professional.
