Things to be prepared for:
* There is a television but you can't watch tv (we were happy about this). However, you can borrow VHS tapes or bring your own DVD or VHS. There is a player in the living room.
* The kitchen is well equipped with cooking and storage supplies, but there are only five settings (plates, silverware, bowls, etc.). This would have been fine except we had another family of four join us for dinner one evening and had to improvise. There was also only one dish towel, which was sopping wet after our first round of dishes, so next time I will bring a few of my own.
* We brought our own coffee and knew there would be a coffee maker, but we did not realize that there wouldn't be coffee filters. The chalet was supplied with little pre-packaged Wolfgang puck coffee packets to put into the coffee maker but unless you like weak coffee, bring your own coffee AND filters.
* There is no internet except in the office which has limited hours
* There is a little grocery store/gas station right across the street. It has almost anything you need in case you forget something (like coffee filters).
* The loft was great for kids. It had a nice fence in the open part so I didn't have to worry about them falling out, but the stairs are very steep so that added a different element of me telling my kids to be careful.
Overall, this was a win/win! We brought both our dogs for a really small fee compared to Airbnb or similar. It is a five minute drive to the ski resort. It was so nice to have the option of internet or tv. We played games, went on walks, and skied. It was super fun! Highly recommend.
The room was dirty and dust covered most surfaces. There was a horrible smell in the room. The bathroom floor was dirty. The toilet was not flushed.and looked like it wouldn’t flush. The small kitchenette area was not suitable for human use. The bed was lumpy and I doubt the mattress had been changed in over 20 years.
The location of the hotel is a long a busy highway and road noise can be easily heard from inside of your room.
We decided to head over to the lake and considered not staying at the hotel room. We did not feel comfortable with her nine month old son staying in a room in that condition. Upon our arrival we noticed a drug deal occurring in the parking lot. It was then we confirmed that we would not stay at the hotel. My husband went to check us out and ask for a refund and advise them of the reasons why. The staff declined a refund.
We also appeared to be the only ones at the hotel as the parking lot was empty.
We were very disappointed in the conditions of the room. Do not take children to this hotel as it is unclean and there were obvious drug deals taking place within a few hundred feet of the rooms.
Vinyl in bathroom shows wear from water and age. No hair dryer, so I had to ask for one. Quick and friendly checkout.
