Hotel's Favourite
Stopped for one night on our way down the coast. Quaint hotel, reminded me of travelling in the 60s. Older hotel but has been remodeled. Large rooms, comfortable beds, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot in room, quiet. No air conditioning but opened the window to let the coastal air sweep in. it is a 2 story hotel with no elevator - we were placed on the second floor. We decided just to take what we needed for a one night stay so we didn't have a problem with a top room. Would suggest requesting a bottom room if you have issues with climbing stairs. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Within walking distance of Old Town Florence with plenty of restaurants. Hotel did provide coffee and muffins in the morning. Would stay here again.

This Motel is located within a block of the Fishermans Wharf tourist zone. It has comfortable touches to make you feel welcome and special. There's not AC but it's not needed as the coastal breezes come through your window, which has a high opening for security. Coffee is available but you can walk a couple blocks to the Brown Hen for Breakfast. Enjoy your Stay, we sure did.

It was a nice pace to sleep with really comfortable beds and everything was clean. With special touches like, a restaurant guide. Along with if you’re a AAA member u can get a discount. Compared to the other motels in town it was a reasonable price and u can tell someone takes pride in it.

We stayed at the Old Town Inn several years ago and had a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and the location was good. Wyndham recently took over this property. Based on our prior experience, and the acquisition, we booked two rooms for two nights at this hotel for ourselves and my sister and her husband. We arrived on Friday, July 5th around 3 and were initially assigned a room upstairs. Since some of our party couldn’t carry their bags up the stairs, we requested rooms on the first floor, and the hotel accommodated our request.
However, when our rooms were ready, I found ours to be unacceptable. The bathroom door had a large hole which looked like someone punched it, holes in the wall were present where shelves were missing from the wall (shelves were in other rooms), and some of the wood was falling off the furniture with shreds of wood were in the carpet. Additionally, unlike other rooms, there were no window screens on the section that could be opened. When my husband asked for a screen, we were told that out of 141 rooms, ours was the only one without a screen, and they had none available to fix the issue.
I went to the office to request another fan as the room was hot and uncomfortable. I also mentioned that the room was in poor condition and was told that the damage was caused by a previous guest the night before- a domestic altercation-and they hadn’t had time to fix it. I can’t believe any establishment would give a paying guest a room in such a state. Further, it appeared that although the hotel was fully booked, there were other rooms available. We were later told those rooms were for guests arriving at midnight, even though we were there at 3 in the afternoon. The room we had was disgusting as well as miserably stuffy and warm. I also found the pillows had a terrible odor and I woke up very itchy the next morning, and subsequently found a few hairs in the bed that were not ours. Being that there were not other rooms or hotels available in town, we were stuck here. On Saturday afternoon, the day before our early morning departure, I went back to the office to complain again and expressed my displeasure with the entire situation. The two staff members were apologetic, provided a set of pillowcases and then miraculously found a screen for our window that they took from another room. Although they were apologetic, it really didn’t matter at this point. This hotel should be ashamed of itself, and I would never recommend it to anyone. It is a total disgrace.

Amazing room at a great rate, the bed was the best hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. Everything was very clean and it was very quiet. Coffee was excellent at the continental breakfast that also had oatmeal, muffins, fruit and Yoplait yogurt. The staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful! Would definitely stay here again! Thanks!

Not happy with Super 8 Florence Oregon! They were supposed to take a pending charge for incidentals for the overnight stay, but, instead they charged my credit card. They have now debited the charge back, but due to the exchange rate I now have to pay an amount being the difference on the exchange rate when the card was credited and then debited. When you say you are not going to charge the credit card, don’t go behind my back and do an actual charge. This has soured my stay!!

Our booking was made with this hotel called by its previous name, the Old Town Inn, but it's now a Super 8. This was fine but a little confusing as initially we weren't sure we were in the right place. Our room was on the end of the block on the ground floor. It was clean, nicely laid out and had a decent amount of space.
The hotel's major plus is its location, being so close to the Old Town of Florence, literally just a short walk away, where there are lots of places to browse, eat and relax. No complaints at all.

The lady and I have to work on VDay 2020 so we went to the coast on Monday and Tuesday before to take advantage of our days off. The Old Town Inn in Florence Oregon was our destination and our first time visiting.
As soon as we arrived we noticed easy access into the place (three different locations) and large parking spots. (I like this. You can get out and into your car easier)
Jered was at the front desk this night and was very kind and respectful. Professional and accommodating to our “weekend getaway” and even suggested a room without any neighbors we might possibly disturb.
He informed us of all the accommodations and even asked if we needed extra towels. He let us know the local spot to eat and where and when we could do fun things.
The rooms are VERY presentable and comfortable. The bed was amazing and not one over used. Great lighting. Fun clock with ocean sounds. Fridge and mic. A bathroom that was generous in size to not seem cramped. Hot water on demand. Plenty of drawers and a huge closet.
It’s great that the Old Town Inn is in old historic district. PLENTY of shops and restaurants within a five min walk.
It does say “free breakfast” but this is donuts and fruit. The best part is the office has mass amounts of coffee for refills (the ones in motel rooms are so small. People need there coffee stat! No complaints though. There coffee is organic as well)
All in all.. we will definitely be staying at the Old Town In again for sure.
Veterans get a discount. (Jered is a US NAVY vet as well as I am)
Thanks Jered and Old Town Inn for helping make our special day, much needed time away from the kids, so accommodating and welcoming.

Hi WayfaringWarren, Thank you for choosing The Old Town Inn for your special getaway here in Florence...Oregon's Coastal Playground. Thank you also for your very detailed and positive review, and the five-star rating to go with it. We work hard to earn those and are very grateful. We're sorry for the reference to the free breakfast. We've scrubbed the internet to delete that as we only offer coffee, donuts, fresh fruit, and packaged oatmeal. We just can't compete with all the great breakfast options within walking distance for a full-menu, sit-down service...but it helps keep our price down a little and helps some guests get off to a quick start on their day's adventures. Please keep us in mind for other occasions and come see us again soon.

The front desk lady checking us in was friendly and chatty; she gave us restaurant recommendations The room is clean and includes a microwave and mini-fridge. Hair dryer was at the front desk and was offered to us as we checked in (for Covid reasons). Room had a ceiling fan and stand fan but no air conditioning; the fan was fine as the weather is normally cool. Price was somewhat high for what was offered, but maybe that is because it is on the coast.
Now they are not offering donuts or anything for breakfast.

Hi WaysideTraveler, Thank you very much for choosing the Old Town Inn in Florence for your stay here on the Central Oregon Coast. We appreciate your detailed review (in-room amenities and Covid precautions) and for mentioning our helpful front desk staff. You're right, due to the pandemic we no longer offer a grab-n-go food option in the morning and have removed its mention from every site we can find--and like most locations (homes, offices, shops, lodgings) we don't have AC, but that's why we do have those fans, and security windows that open only at the top by the ceiling fan to quickly cool a room on those rare hot (70-degree+) days. We hope you will stay with us again next time you're out this way.

We stayed 4 nights on the Oregon coast, 2 nights at the Hotel Elliot in Astoria, 1 night at the Hallmark Resort in Newport, and 1 night at the Old Town Inn. We felt that the drive from Newport to Florence was the prettiest part and we enjoyed walking to the Heceta Lighthouse en route. When we first pulled into the Old Towne Inn I was a little nervous that it was located right on the busy Highway 101. But we soon learned that by walking behind the hotel it was a short walk to the waterfront and little shops and restaurants. Our room #134 was very comfortable and reasonably priced (especially compared to the other coastal hotels we stayed at). Florence is a great little stop!

Greetings from sunny Florence,
If you don't mind, please call our front desk to get better answers than I can give you here. The phone numbers are 800-301-6494 or 541-997-7131. In short, our rooms are not fully ADA compliant as the facility was built before the regulations and was "grandfathered" from full compliance. However, we've made several adaptations that have helped many guests. If you haven't already, be sure to request a ground floor room. And yes, the parking lot has plenty of room for a trailer. Thank you for asking. We look forward to your stay. Have a safe trip!
Hello Barbara,
We are only a block away from Bay Street where most of the Old Town shops are located.
Absolutely. In fact, we're technically IN old town, so you will find it a short walk to all the fun shops and galleries, and the great food. We hope to see you soon!
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. We do have a downstairs room that is handicap accessible. Please call the hotel for more details and we will be able to let you know if we can accommodate your needs. 541-997-7131
