This hotel was built in 1911. Restoration and updates have been kept with the historic ambiance yet modern conveniences - such as a bathroom in the room! We had a room that looked out over the river. We were a bit concerned as others complained about the noise. Is there highway noise? Yes. Hood River is on the highway. Was...

Nice hotel on the North end of the downtown area. Right next to the boarding area for the Mt Hood railroad station. So great place to stay and do a mystery dinner train or a day excursion to Parkdale. We stayed in a suite and it was nice. Does come with small kitchen area to help cut down costs on...

This was a wonderful trip staying in the Hood River Hotel looking out over the town. Enjoyed that it is so well taken care of and everyone was so pleasant. Wonderful continental breakfast! Maybe one of the oldest elevators still in operation also! Thank you Hood River Hotel!

Decided to try this hotel in downtown Hood River during this visit. It was enjoyable staying in this old historic building. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed opening the large window in our room. Comfortable beds. Small bathroom that used to be a closet. The train didn't bother sleep.

Not overly fancy but a classy older Hotel. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are a little small and if you are on a lower floor, you will hear the folks above you as the floors sqeak. But they have just replaced all the mattresses and they are wonderful. I have been on the road for two weeks and they have...

This is a historic, restored authentic hotel that does not try to be a boutique or trendy place. It is in the heart of Hood River. You don't have to run down the hall to use the toilet - there is that 20th century upgrade - but the bathroom is in the previous clothes closet. Read the little signs in...

A native Oregonian, I thought I would try an "old" hotel for my stay in Hood River, so booked at the HR Hotel. I have spent much time in European hotels/B&Bs well over 3 - 500 yrs old, so I'm accustomed to "old." This places is nice enough, the staff are terrific, the rooms are immaculate. The problem is that...

After decades of passing through Hood River, it was time to stay. I'm glad we did. Price was the initial appeal, what with the March river view special and base prices already reasonable. The open, airy lobby and adjoining bar/breakfast room are welcoming, and for a longer stay would be great places to hang out. The continental breakfast was perfect...

The building is charmingly old-fashioned, clean and comfortably appointed, and the staff is as cooperative as can be. I've had wonderful stays in 500-year-old buildings fitted as bed and breakfasts, and I can be very happy without the conveniences of shiny, new, modern lodgings. So I could have loved this hotel. I don't. To begin with, a musty smell permeates...

This place was by far the most affordable hotel in Hood River: it's over 100 years old, and the view of the Columbia River is distant (and over a parking lot and a railroad track and a highway), but we loved it. Yes, the floors creak and the rooms aren't entirely soundproof, but earplugs are provided for light sleepers (the...
