Arrived to a hotel with no parking, worn carpet, and so much noise in the river view room you can't sleep. Train cars go by constantly and regular street noise is not muffled. You can hear every conversation in the hall and the room next...More
We arrived at this well preserved historical hotel much later than planned. Since this isn't high season many good places to eat were closed/closing. Our very helpful desk man called several places until he found an open place ( that turned out to be surprisingly...More
A nice hotel, old, but well restored, but still showing its age a little. Wonderful staff, well organized and helpful. Great with restaurant suggestions. A fair sized lobby with a computer and a nice little front veranda/porch great for people watching. Reasonable cost.

We were there on a Sunday night and didn't need to pay for parking at night. However, we paid the $3 for a permit to put in our window to cover the next morning after 8 am. You can't park on the main street but it was easy finding a place on the street up from the hotel--a very short walk. We loved the restaurant in the hotel and that's where we had dinner. The owner was really nice and it made for an easy place to go after a long day of driving. We later walked up and down the street and there were other nice looking and packed restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel was perfect.
