This is an older one-story motel. But it's well maintained, with fresh paint, OK quality towels, no air freshener smells, and really friendly staff. Plus it was 50 bucks cheaper then best Western up the way. We were well satisfied, and will return.

John Day was all full up when we looked for a room. The Budget 8 Motel had two rooms. They were clean but as expected they were spartan. This is one of those motels in the '50's style. Its a long row of ground floor rooms with parking in front of your door. When we were there, a crew of...

We stayed here two nights. The room had clean sheets. The rest of the room was warn out. There were spider webs behind and above the door, bathroom was clean but room windows were unlocked. Room needed some TLC, owners kind. A deep cleaning a upholstery update would go a long way.

I had one of the bigger rooms and it was comfortable. Another satisfactory place in John Day, the manager was friendly and the price was reasonable. John Day can be a busy town so I recommend making reservations ahead of time.

Myself and several others stayed in three rooms at the Budget 8 during a cold winter trip to Grant County. The staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The parking is the best of all motels in the area. The price is easily the most competitive compared to the other motels in the area. We...

I made a reservation for a pet-friendly room the night before and was lucky enough to grab the last pet friendly room. I called on my way to the hotel, I had gotten a little turned around because it was dark and I'd never been to the area before. The gentleman on the phone was very nice, gave me the...

This is clearly a well-managed establishment. The rooms are cleaned to a much higher level than I have come to expect. There are plenty of soft towels, a superb shower and larger than usual rooms . I am not sure why Trip advisor classifies this as a B&B as it is a first rate motel (and does not serve breakfast!)....

The room was fairly clean, but smelled overwhelmingly of air freshener. We had a coffee pot, but no coffee, and one towel for two people. But the front desk guy was really nice and the service there was very good. The room was quiet. Overall, not a bad experience.

The staff were helpful for our late arrival. Room was stuffy and a yogurt package was left on bed. clean and large bathroom with great shower temp and pressure. Much welcomed after several days camping. Stained carpets and chairs-lots of cigarette smoke outside of rooms and strong odors of cat urine. Room had fridge, microwave, and coffee maker (though not...

Since our group was not as full as I had intended when I made the reservation, I asked when we arrived if I could cancel the additional room. I was pleasantly surprised when the front desk attendant agreed to my request and did not charge me for the cancellation!! Our room actually had a separate bedroom as well as a...
