Located in close proximity to Wallowa Lake this is a historical lodge that was originally constructed in 1923. A restaurant is located on the first floor and the food was better than average. The room my wife and I stayed in was of average size and was clean. There was no telephone, television or hairdryer in the room. Our room...

Thank you for taking the time to provide your thoughts about Wallowa Lake Lodge. As an historic property, no telephone or television keeps with the spirit of when the building was constructed. The new owners (as of April 2016) are looking at ways of making the Lodge more hospitable and your comment about the restaurant kitchen exhaust fan has been...

Wallowa Lake Lodge is an historic lodge along Wallowa Lake. It's about five miles outside the town of Joseph, but very close to the State Park and the Wallowa Lake Tramway. We spent several nights here and found the lodge to be a good place to stay. There are a couple of miniature golf courses & bumper boats, etc. nearby,...

Thank you for your reviews of both the Wallowa Lake Lodge and the Camas Dining Room. It sounds like your family had a wonderful, active vacation at Wallowa Lake and the Lodge's lobby was a great place to relax and play some board games and cards in the evening. The Lodge was recently purchased by a group of mainly Eastern...

We booked this cabin for our parents. They checked in, it looked nice, and then they spent the day out with us. When they went back at night to rest, they turned down the bed to find BUGS, BLOOD AND HAIR on the sheets! Someone made the bed but didn't change the sheets. My dad was exhausted and just slept...

We sincerely apologize for this error and accept full responsibility. The housekeepers tasked with preparing the Fir Cabin for your parents are no longer employed by Wallowa Lake Lodge. Our staff first became aware of the situation when your mother came to the Lodge front desk around 10 p.m. The evening front desk manager offered to change the sheets or...

We enjoyed the historic lodge with the beautiful surroundings. Excellent staff very accommodating. Just remember no air-conditioning, TV's or phones but we didn't miss them. Enjoyed the antique furniture used in the lodge. We had breakfast each morning in the restaurant which was excellent and a great price.

Thank you, Sahills, for your review. The Lodge is known for no air-conditioning, TV's or phones as it is more of an historic experience. Breakfast in the Camas Dining Room is also a favorite and a good value. We hope to see you again soon at Wallowa Lake Lodge.

To some historic might mean old, to us it was interesting and an experience. It is nice to get away from phone, tv, and ac. It just take getting used too. Climbing stairs wasn't much fun but it got us to the second floor (there is a third floor also) Great view of the large lawn area leading to the...

Thank you for your review. At 4,400' elevation, sometimes more than the views are breathtaking at Wallowa Lake Lodge. Our housekeeping staff takes great pride in preparing each of the guestrooms and we're happy you found them comfortable. Please come see us again!

We reserved two rooms for our weekend in Joseph: a two-bedroom suite on the second floor for three people, and one room on the third floor for a couple. While the hotel is a lovely historic structure (built in 1923), the rooms could not have been more different! The two-room suite was "jack and jill" style (connected via the bathroom)....

Thank you very much for taking the time to review. The timing of your comment is superb as Wallowa Lake Lodge was recently purchased by a group of primarily local investors from Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington and other parts of the Pacific Northwest, thus saving the lodge from being sold at auction. The new owners love this historic lodge and...

Get a cabin!! Taking nothing away from the lodge, but the cabins are really great. The staff are very friendly and quite helpful with area information. The breakfast is a must. Enjoy coffee on the deck. I had the Fir cabin, which is located closest to the lake. It is a one bedroom, with plenty of room, and a nice...

This historic Wallowa Lake Lodge is the perfect place to shed the busyness of modern life and go back in time to a more peaceful, relaxed and tranquil era. The renovated lodge rooms are very comfortable and reminiscent of earlier times. Dining is superb in the Camas Dining Room. We enjoyed many breakfasts and their special Prime Rib dinner on...

It is what you would expect from a place built in the early 1900s. Don't count on the plumbing to be perfect and the carpeting isn't the best either. That said, it was clean enough and had a large area with fireplace and plenty of chairs if you wanted to read or play a game. Bed was comfortable and the...

This was our first visit to Wallowa Lake Lodge - but hopefully not our last! Built as a hunting lodge many years ago, it has become a wonderfully rustic lodge with restaurant, reminiscent of times gone by. I can imagine families spending every summer here - wonderful grounds, near swimming and boating - in an area known as 'little Switzerland'....
