The Coho Oceanfront Lodge has completed a multi-million-dollar expansion that includes a spacious front lobby, enhanced fire pit area, new oceanfront suites, and a remodeled breakfast room. With this completed renovation, the entire building is now accessible by elevator. The new lobby face-lift and expansion features an eclectic, casual mid-century modern beach vibe that has now doubled in size. Freshly brewed coffee by Portland Roasting Company is always available, as well as filtered ice water in the inviting space. The hotel will also soon be bringing back its weekly guest social featuring local wines, craft beers, and hors d’oeuvres. The new communal fire pit area is majestically positioned directly on the ocean side, providing unobstructed, amazing panoramic views of the Pacific Coastline and Cascade Head. The space features multiple seating areas, an LED-lit stairwell and a glass facade. An ADA accessible fire pit is located at the top of the cliff. The newly renovated breakfast area, designed with the whole family in mind, now includes a large communal table. Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, sausage, waffles, and fresh-to-order smoothies with natural seasonal ingredients will soon be available. In addition, four new oceanfront suites have been added to the boutique hotel. The rooms feature over-sized soaking tubs with sunset views, a gas fireplace, luxurious bathroom, sitting area, and embroidered bathrobes for guests to use. The Coho Oceanfront Lodge also offers select pet-friendly units.

Detailed Reviews
So first off, the staff.
They were friendly, from the moment I checked in until I checked out. They answered all my questions and made sure I had what I needed. They also provided good area knowledge for me on my second day when I wanted to go out and look at some local shops.
Second, my room.
I got a suite with 2 rooms. It also had a fireplace and a kitchenette. The kitchenette was what I would consider small, but it was clean and did the job I needed it to do. It consisted of a small 2 burner stove top, a small sink, and a small mini fridge. However, I brought my own food for 2 days so it wasn't an issue at all. If there were 2 adults and 1 or 2 kids and you wanted to bring food for more than 2 days, you would need a big ice chest to handle the extra food that would need to be kept cold. There are cupboards, with some plates , bowls , glasses, and a few pots and pans for cooking though.
The fireplace was a very nice feature.
On my second night, I turned on the fireplace and had the door open on the balcony so I could listen to the waves, with just the screen door on. I fell asleep without closing the glass door and was totally comfortable all night long.
The mattress.
I was surprised by how comfortable the mattress was. It wasn't a $5k beautyrest, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sleep I got on it compared other hotels I've stayed at in the past.
The room.
The room was clean and smelled fresh from the moment I entered it. No sand or dust anywhere, and that's a feat for a hotel that's directly above the beach where the wind can get very gusty. My room also had a balcony which was clean and provided an excellent view for literally mile up and down the coast.
Location.
The hotel sits on a cliff above the beach and the view is excellent. There is a breezeway to the right of the front desk which takes you out to the fire pits overlooking the beach. The first one is on the walkway so if you have a wheelchair or a stroller it's not a problem for people to access the fire pit. To the left of that, there are stairs that go down to the other 3 fire pits in a landing full of sand for that "on the beach" feel. To the right of the main fire pit is a grassy area, and just beyond that is an area for the dogs (if you plan to bring yours ). They also have corn hole boards that you can set up and play in the grassy area.
Access the the beach is literally a 3 minute walk from the front desk.
Hope this review helps !

This is a very unique and special hotel. The location (right above the beach), view (ocean, beach, skyline), and the special "beach fire pit" they have created to enjoy the view without the wind is really special. But having all that, and making our pet welcome was just amazing. This is the perfect place for those traveling with dogs! The ground floor room has hard flooring and outside access so you can easily get your fur friend out whenever very easily. They seem to have thought of everything. We received a little "doggie" bag with waste bags, a toy, and treats. Very thoughtful. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. I loved setting on our little patio and looking at the beach. The hot breakfast was much better than expected. Hot eggs, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, sausage, waffles, a variety of breads and pastry, and fresh fruit and juice. Best "deluxe continental breakfast" we've had. All of this and an outstanding group of people staff the hotel. Chris checked us in and was great about answering any questions and helping with any need. Everyone from housekeeping, desk staff, food service, and every employee we encountered was so friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back.

The entire property is very, very clean, from the fire pits, the pool and hot tub area, the breakfast area, parking lots, to even the elevator.
The rooms were exemplary in their spotlessness, they smelled clean, had good lighting, were very quiet, and had very, very comfortable beds, so important to us now that we are getting older. The ample citrus scented toiletries were of nice quality, and the showers had wonderful water pressure. We were very pleased with the efficient and quiet air conditioning.
The common area in the lobby was comfortable, had a large assortment of games and movies to check out, wine, snacks, bathrobes, shirts, and souvenirs to purchase, and resources and menus for the surrounding area. The fireplace gave great ambience.
The gas fire pits that came on each evening were in a cozy sunken area with clear panels that do not obstruct the ocean view and were very well maintained.
The breakfast was wonderful! Happy sigh! They had scrambled eggs, salsa, biscuits and gravy, sausage links, fried potatoes, and waffles along with the traditional continental fare. There was both indoor and covered outdoor seating.
Available throughout the day in the lobby were hot coffee, cocoa, and a large assortment of teas, which I found particularly helpful during my allergy flare up. Chocolate chip cookies were also available in the afternoons. Unlike many other properties we have visited, the water from the taps both smelled and tasted good.
But for all of the wonderful things this property had going for it, its true treasure is the people who work there. Every single person that I spoke with, from the maids, the waitresses, to the hosts at the front desk, was friendly, personable, helpful, and genuinely happy. I didn’t catch everyone’s names, but the front desk hosts were all particularly knowledgeable, well trained, professional, and altogether stellar, especially the young lady who dealt with the unreasonable and verbally abusive customers who wanted to bring their pet turtle into their hotel room. She was gentle, deescaltatory, but firm, and is such an asset to your team.
Thank you to each of you for making our stay more pleasant than I had ever experienced in a Lincoln City hotel before.

Overall, this is a great option for oceanfront, easy access to a beautiful beach along the Oregon Coast.
We stayed for 4 nights Aug 19-23. We are a family of 4.
The breakfast is good, the eating area is clean and organized. I felt good starting my day off there before exploring the coast. The front desk is helpful, personable and friendly. The fire pits are a great touch and there is a bit of green-space for people to bring their dogs to or for kids to play. Access to the beach is not direct off the hotel but just a half block away. Very easy to get to the beach. There are shops and restaurants close by that you can also walk to.
The pool, hot tub and spa are well maintained and open till 9 for kids and 10 for adults (although many guests didn’t care for this rule and they’d bring their kids after 9).
I’m not giving the full 5 stars because I I found the room small and not furnished for a family even though we got one with a separate room for the kids with bunk beds and their own TV. The only room left with the kids room was a queen bed so we took it. As soon as you walk into the room you are in front of the bed. After being at the beach all day I prefer to not drag the sand into the bed area right away. The living area/space has a couch but a very small coffee table. We took IKEA kids table out to use as a table instead. When we had takeout it was easier to use the bigger kids IKEA table than their tiny tear drop shaped coffee table.
We’ve stayed at oceanfront/beachfront resorts before so I’m surprised the bathroom wasn’t equipped with a line to hang your bathing suits or towels. We would hang them on the chair outside but if it rains they’ll just never get dry.
I was also surprised that housekeeping didn’t make the bed if you had your pajamas on it. Other hotels I’ve stayed at, that wouldn’t prevent housekeeping from making the bed. They’d usually fold them and place them on top. The front desk never told us about this so it was a surprise to come back and think that housekeeping never came. They also do not sweep or vacuum up the floors daily which would have been nice since it’s a hotel at the beach and people will have sand everywhere. I found a broom and dustpan but because of the grooves in the flooring, a lot of sand is still left behind. A good daily vacuum would have been nice. Housekeeping also did not take away used glasses and replace them with clean ones. I had to go to the front desk and ask for that. They said housekeeping doesn’t touch personal items, but we had no personal items in the glasses so I don’t know why they didn’t replace them with new ones.
I also recommend top floor if it’s available (it wasn’t for us). This is an older 3 storey wood frame building so 3 out of the 4 nights we were there the people above us kept us up with their walking around till 1:30am. We were in room 12.

Dear Vancitygal13, I am thrilled to hear that you had such a great stay with us. Thank you, very much for taking the time to write such a great review. We do have an amazing staff here, each one of them go above and beyond to ensure the rooms are clean and tidy, that any question you have can be answered by the front desk. I am sorry for the confusion about the stay over service. I am sorry to hear that we missed grabbing the dirty glasses out of your room while stay over service was being done. I am happy to hear that the front desk was able to get you fresh, clean glasses. It was a delight to host you, and we look forward to hosting you again in the near future.

The super-clean rooms have a great view of the hypnotic surf, with waves breaking over low rock formations at one end of the hotel beachfront. It is in a quiet location with good parking. I was greeted by a friendly, efficient front desk clerk. She gave good information about times and locations of breakfast, the swimming pool, jacuzzi, exercise facility, and how to find our rooms, then, along with our room access cards, handed me two packets of fresh-ground coffee to brew in the room's very nice French press. We enjoyed the guest-accessible lawn, and beautiful gas firepits that beckoned us to sit outside well into the night. Gail runs a wonderful included breakfast, and chatting with her is a delight. We've been there twice, and it's our first choice for a place to stay in Lincoln City.

This was our first time in Lincoln City so based on reviews and photos of the Coho we decided to stay there for 4 nights. It is clean but do not expect much more than that. Maid service in the rooms is spotty, so you might have to go down to the front desk if you want dry clean towels. The free breakfast is about worth that, it would be ok if you have kids or a lot of people to feed. The selections are limited and food was barely warm. We only ate there one morning and when in search for better food the other morning. The coffee you can get for the room is very good but you do have stop by the front desk every day to get it.

We had a wonderful stay at the Coho Oceanfront Lodge. The room we had on the 3rd floor (a two bedroom option) was very spacious and extremely clean. The room felt fresh - not old and tired like a few other places we stayed at on this particular road trip. The beds were very comfortable! The view from our room was incredible. We felt so grateful to have an oceanfront view and a private deck. While you're not able to access the beach from the hotel property, it is a very short walk to a beach access point (with foot washing station).
All the staff we encountered during our stay were so friendly - I believe the staff member that checked us in was Cheyenne and Logan was also at the front desk - both so very accommodating and friendly.
I'd absolutely recommend this location to friends and family AND anyone on a road trip needing a break from run down motels along the 101! This was a very well maintained and beautiful location. Hope we can make it back one day.

I spent 5 days glorious over the Thanksgiving holiday and can honestly say that I have ZERO complaints. A special shout out to Lance, Gail and Carrie for making sure that I felt welcomed and taken care of. Lance ran interference for any questions or concerns I presented, always smiling, always warm and friendly, a kind soul indeed ! The hospitality room provided a large variety good morning eats and beverages. The kitchen area was impeccably clean, and as a certified food safety advisor, Iam keenly watchful for proper food holding temperatures and practices. Gail never failed to greet me and engage in conversation, even at 6am when she was clearly engaged her morning tasks. All of the other multitudes of amenities were simply icing on the proverbial cake. Don't delay....book now😍

Excellent location with all the comfort and amenities you want.
Rooms actually look like the listing, beach view, cute decor in the lobby, great firepit area overlooking the water, 4pm wine social with free glasses of wine. We took our wine and phone games (and a cozy blanket) out to the firepit area for a lovely night.
The complimentary breakfast is great, hot eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, real fruit salad. The servers Gayle and Rocio were right up on any issues and refilling constantly with a smile.
Our TV initially had gotten disconnected from its cable box before we arrived but Lance from the office came right up and fixed it no problem.
My husband said this was the best place we’ve stayed at the Coast and we have been coming for 6 years. Highly recommend!
Rooms actually look like the listing, beach view, cute decor in the lobby, great firepit area overlooking the water, 4pm wine social with free glasses of wine. We took our wine and phone games (and a cozy blanket) out to the firepit area for a lovely night.

dmsq-pdx, thank you for taking the time to review our property! I am delighted you were able to enjoy the wine social and fire pits before the rain set in. Gail and Rocio take great pride in their work and will be thrilled to see they made a lasting impression. Lance is another one of our amazing team members who will do whatever he can to make sure our guests have everything they need (like a working TV). We are all very happy you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

The location and view are nice, but after adding up all the small issues encountered will likely prevent us from returning. Flies in the room, had to go buy a fly swatter as the hotel didn’t have one to provide. The toilet was so tight it was difficult to maneuver. Housekeeping never cleaned the room so we got a broom and swept it ourselves. The beds are very firm and we ended up with back issues. Parking can be a challenge if you arrive late in the day.

Yes for a minimal fee like 25 dollars for dogs. Not sure about cats
Yes! Our pool and hot tub are both open!
Our hotel has 69 beautiful units. Some that are large family suites, some that are studio units, some that are adult-only section with jetted tubs, and most rooms are oceanfront/ocean view. Thank you for asking TOMMYRICO!
It’s a good two hours from PDX to Coho. The drive is pleasant and picturesque, though.
