Called the Tall Winds on a Thursday night looking for an unplanned place to stay for my family and I on a road trip. The manager was helpful and found us the right sized room at the motel for a family of five. She also advised us of the limited food and fuel options on that stretch of US 97, so we made sure the kiddos were fed and the van gassed prior to arrival. Clean room and bathroom. Extremely easy check-in and check out. Very reasonably priced for the service; 5/5!
The small hotel is a clean ,quiet, convenient alternative to the noise of the hotels along I 84 in the gorge . Nice folks running it - in fact , everyone in Moro seems nice. A small restaurant and a small grocery store are the only food options , but both are run by (of course) very nice people .
We pulled in due to freezing fog on the highway at 8pm. Pleasant checking, even with 2 dogs. Room was comfortable & very clean. We were in the "dog house", The room closest to the highway, but slept peacefully in a comfortable bed with minimal noise from the highway. I will tell my friends that drive that way that it is an unexpected, very clean place & reasonable to stay. Managers were very helpful & friendly. Thank you.
This motel was clean and surprisingly quiet for being so close to the highway. The traffic has to slow down to 25. The parking lot is small so if you have a really big trailer or RV don't try it. Our truck and motorcycle trailer fit, but it was October. There was no desk or chairs, besides the lawn chair outside. It had a flat screen TV with a good picture and lots of choices on cable. The bathroom had a small sink and a one person shower (no tub). The breakfast... Well, coffee, little apple juice containers. Bagels, tiny muffins and plain donuts. If there was any left. No where to sit and eat, just take it and go. There wasn't much of a reception desk. I guess you had to ring a bell. My husband checked us in and he says the owner was friendly and talkative. We paid the same price elsewhere and got a much better breakfast. Moro is kind of in the middle of nowhere. We were taking a different highway so stayed the night.…
Passed this place three or four times in the past but this trip made it a point to stop. Owner run place with 10 rooms? shaped in L configuration. Rooms were clean with microwave, fridge, flat screen TV, shower and tub, table chairs, phone and alarm clock for $65. Exactly my kinda place. Owner Mike was real friendly and easy to talk to. Two other folks stayed there at same time and we were placed in rooms with at least two empties on either side. Think this displays real class on owners part.
