We made reservations at this Motel 6 because most of the other motels in the area were booked (mid-August). The price was exorbitant: over $200 (with AARP discount). It's just a basic motel. The room was clean and huge! Enough to throw a party for 20 people (though we didn't)! It did reek of bleach (I guess a sanitized room is a good thing). We had a fridge, micro and two large beds. However, there was no AC! Just a Cadet wall heater. So we opened the windows to cool the room, though I had to close them that night due to parking lot noise. It's in a weird, uninviting, industrial-like area. Definitely over-priced for what you get.

Get ready for spartan. The furniture is old and beat up around the edges, as are the wall corners in the rooms. But, there are sliding glass doors out to little balconies for fresh air and light, the room seemed to be clean, and it served its purpose (a place to sleep) on a tight budget.

Avoid this hotel unless you have extremely low expectations and are looking purely for a place to sleep. The room is devoid of ANY decor. There were no pictures at all, three walls and the ceiling are plain white, the one remaining wall is of course the one behind the bed that you don’t see when you are in the bed. The lights all give off a harsh bright light, except for the one that flickered. At least that could be turned off. This is Motel 6, so don’t expect any gym, pool or hot tub. No breakfast included, which is probably a good thing considering the total lack of attention to the room.

Horrifying experience. Neighborhood seemed sketchy, but I tried to ignore that since two people had told me this was a safe place to stay for families on a budget. Checked in and walked to our room, hall smelled strongly of pot, and there were people screaming at each other in a room three doors down from us. The room was grungy (perhaps they should rent these rooms by the hour instead??) but beyond the (excessively) run-down facility, the floor had loose change and other debris under the beds, and there was dried/old urine on the toilet. Since my children had come straight from the beach and were soaking wet and freezing, I needed to get them showered and into dry clothes quickly. I asked for a cleaner room. (Should have just left immediately, but I needed to get my kids taken care of.) Room number two was marginally less offensive than room one (as in, no visible urine on the toilet, but was still in horrifying condition). While my kids got the sand off in the shower and changed to dry clothes, I started calling other hotels. Sea Gypsy had a room available and gave us a fantastic rate when I explained the situation I was in, in an unsafe place with three kids in tow. I've never been so thankful to get out of a motel in my life. Lost money for the night, but counting ourselves ahead.

This motel is disgusting. The room was not clean looking. The paint was chipped, Formica laminate was about off in front of the sink, a little glue would fix it. The room shakes when somebody’s door closes. There is light coming in around the door when it is closed. The furniture is cheap with paper-thin printed surface that is gouged and the corners smashed. The chair is molded plastic. All that is offered in the morning is coffee with plastic creamer. The lobby is shabby. I had forgotten how bad motel 6 is and this was bad. It is located in a tourist area. Why so bad?
Advice: stay somewhere else!

This property sits right across the road from Rogue world headquarters, is within walking distance to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and a 5 minute drive from Newport's historic downtown, numerous dining and shopping venues and just a 7-10 minute drive from other area locations. For the price, you cannot beat the location! This is an older property, but is surprisingly spacious, quiet and clean. There is a balcony, so that offers plenty of fresh air, as there is only heat temp controls in the room. My room was a mini suite with a kitchenette: sink, microwave and mini refrigerator. The shower had good pressure and the water was hot. The bed was clean and comfortable. BUT, because there was no bedspring and the matress was just sitting on a metal IKEA frame, I woke up with the worst back pain!!! After several hours, you could feel every bar. But that was the only negative. For what I paid and the location, I felt like I got a great deal.

This place is terrible. Walking in, it smelled of someone cooking curry. In the room there was no Kleenex and when we asked for some they said they do not furnish it;. There was no coffee pot in the room, and only a small bar of soap in the bathroom. The bed groaned and made croaking noises when we simply turned over in it. The pillows were terrible. The thermostat didn't seem to work. The heat was either on or off. The good news, is that there was ample parking.

Great location, rooms basic but truly excellent value and had everything we needed. Very close to aquarium which we appreciated with kids. It was no trouble to have adjoining rooms and manager was happy to give us extra blankets and answer our questions. Would happily stay again and highly recommend to others.

I booked a certain type of room and was told it wasn’t available at check in. The smoke detector is right next to bathroom so it goes off when you take a shower. There’s been a kid running back and forth upstairs since early this morning. The staff apparently unable to do anything. The manager is refusing to offer a refund.

SO BAD. I know there is not much to be expected from a Motel 6 and they are very basic. We chose this motel solely on it's location and will never stay again. The room is not clean. There is what I can only assume to be ketchup on the night stand however no one in my party has eaten in this room. The microwave has food splatters. There are large cobwebs hanging on the walls. The room sleeps 4 but only has 2 shower towels. There should be 2 chairs at the table but there is only 1 with a large rip in the upholstery. The toilet constantly runs very loudly, we had to close the bathroom door and could still hear it running over the tv. The fridge buzzes very loudly. The light fixtures on several balconys are hanging and exposing wires. Not only is it unclean and very poorly maintained, it is also unsafe. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
