All the other hotels were booked out so we stopped here to check it out. First we didn’t think it was even open. Half of the hotel was dark and blocked of. They are doing construction. Check in took a minute. Very old school. But the owner was friendly and helpful. It was pretty cheap to stay there for the area. Didn’t know quite what to expect but it was ok. Nothing fancy but it was clean and quiet. The coffee maker was missing. But as all we needed was a bed for the night it was fine.

I really cannot believe that someone would rate v this as excellent or even good. Our room was dark and smelly. It was clean enough and the lady at front desk was friendly but I have paid less than I did for this room in other motels and got so much more for my money. This is not a good value for the money spent. I won't return.

Labor Day weekend, checked in Friday night around 7pm. Got our room key and headed to the ocean to watch the sun set. We came back around 8:30 pm, unpacked and ready for some much needed sleep. Went to wash up and brush teeth, well sink is clogged, great. We went to sleep only to be wakened up a hour later to some drunks yelling at each other. This happened the whole night/ morning so when we went down for the complimentary coffee and pastries I told the counter person I assumed was the owner/manager about our sink and noise.
We left and came back a few hours later and the sink still wasn't touched, on our way out, I stopped in and told him again. He called me a few hours later to tell me the plumber couldn't fix so we will get moved to another room. We moved to the other room, was quieter but the refrigerator was missing the holders to keep drinks from falling out and the freezer door was missing. The TV cable was dangling on the wall, the coffee maker wouldn't heat up the water and the shower curtain was moldy, plus the carpet had stains and duct tape in spots.
To top it all off our room didn't get cleaned that day but the same guy gave us new towels.
I would NEVER recommend or stay here again.

So I booked online through Priceline. And after driving to Newport from hours away I went to check in and the guy at the front desk looked up my name and then said oh your reservation was canceled and made it seem like it was my fault somehow. So I left and checked my emails and my bank account and saw that I was charged for the room and my email from 5 minutes before asking how my check in was. So I went back in and showed this to the front desk guy who then proceeded to get mad and raise his voice and pick up his computer monitor and yell that they are booked so bye you need to just leave! I have never had a hotel treat me so rude in my life. I had to call Priceline and they informed me I do have a room and it was never canceled they called the property for me and could not get through I had my money refunded but it takes up to 15 days. So I had to find a last minute hotel and pay more money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! They need to do something about their front desk people and their customer service! I would give zero stars if I could!

I was going to stay here and then cancelled due to a friend booking another place. The people at the inn are great and took my cancellation. However OYO wouldn’t refund me because they didn’t see it in the system or something like that. They are still refusing a refund even though the lovely people at the inn tries to reach them for me and I talked to them several times. OYO the company is a horrible organization, they have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. NEVER book with them online, call the inn instead and they will treat you well.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I will never stay here and will be telling everyone I know not to ever go here. I can not believe how rude the front desk guy was to me. I booked through expedia and it was a pay when you get to property. We are coming from hours away driving up the coast so I had no service.
So what happened: I pulled up, called the after hours number to check in. He's super nice on the phone, awesome, I hop out come in to a pleasant atmosphere and give him my name, there was some confusion cause I gave my maiden and than married name, some of my thing arent changed over, He proceeds to look up at me and in the most rudest tone tells me since I didn't pay ahead and they tried to call several times, so they canceled it because I was told I had to check in by 4pm and they are fully booked, shuffled around grabbed his keys saying have a good night and walks back through the door he originally came through, leaving me in the lobby with my mouth open going um okay, trying not to cry because i cant even comprehend why he had to be so hostel with me when i hadnt even really said much to him.. as well as leaving me in his lobby that he just unlocked to let me in 2 min prior, just so unbelievably rude for no reason.
I just went back through every email and expedia it says nothing about having to be there by 4pm. I also seen I had one at 6 pm from expedia asking me how check in went and another one for right after I left that my room was canceled due to unavoidable circumstances. Funny how that just so happened to come it right after I left the property.
I love this area and have stayed at the other Oyo closer to the beach and around Newport many times, I have friends here, and I have never been treated so poorly.
I really hope he sees this to know that I wasn't planning on arguing with him, I totally could have missed that but for him to treat me like that was completely un called for. Than for me to go back through literally everything and not see anything about me having to be there at 4 makes me put this here. Completely un called for.

The guy I dealt with (covered in tattoos) was a straight up con man. Told me $125, played around on the computer and then mumbled, "I got you a better deal." Great! Then gives me the reciept after running my credit card. It's for $142. I asked what happened to $125 and he said "No, I said $145." I objected and he adamantly insisted he told me $145. To appease me, he then fakes a phone call to "his girlfriend" to remedy the situation. After some mumbled "conversation" with her, he acts like she b!tched at him and tells me, "She won't help me out." So to save me a new motel search I gave in and paid his price. No doubt he routinely pulls this stunt. Going to my room, I spotted a slew of unsavory looking characters in and around the motel who made me VERY nervous about the security of my car and its contents. Go ANYPLACE else but here!

We needed assistance for an issue on our end with our booking. The manager was amazing and helpful even after I’d lost my temper. She got us all fixed up—5 star for her. Front desk guy…not so much…but, the manager deserves a raise for conflict resolution skills.

It doesn't take much to please me, I got a pretty good deal at $55.00 per night at priceline.com. My expectations were pretty low from the get go. I could handle the old bits of french fries and hamburger on the floor, no water pressure, soap the size of a after dinner mint, towels that only cover half your body, walls that are paper thin, wi-fi that did not work at all, a toilet that got backed up every time you flushed it, sheets that were too small for the bed, cold coffee in the lobby, a front desk that would not answer the phone when you called them, a breakfast that consisted of three items, I could go on but i'll stop there. I could handle all that but but what I can't and wont tolerate is the rudeness that I experienced from the guy at the front desk from the moment I walked in the door. I don't know maybe it's just me, but I thought if you worked in the hospitality industry, that being courteous to the guests was part of the job description! Not at this place. Do yourself a big favor and steer clear, no matter how good of deal it is.

This is the first bad review I've ever given, but travelers should be warned about this place. We booked the 3-bed room (king and two doubles) for my family of 4, somewhat warily because of previous reviews, but the alleged value for paying in advance won out. BIG mistake. The room in question reeked of tobacco smoke ("smokeless" room indeed), had a broken bed and a screenless window (All the rooms lack screens.) with a view of a dingy hallway wall. As another reviewer pointed out, there were transients living there and the place's state of disrepair looked like something out of a film noir.

We felt trapped when we saw (and smelled) the room, but after we complained to the friendly couple who run it, they, to their credit, moved us to the Willers Motel (review of that elsewhere)down the street without asking any more money for doing so. But despite some measure of integrity on their part, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Newport doesn't seem to have any real value in a motel, but if you decide to stay there, don't make my mistake and try to save a few bucks with a bargain that isn't.
