We arrived in Newport without reservations on a Saturday night. After making a few phone calls we decided to just drive through town and see what we could find. This motel was the first one we saw that had vacancies. From the outside it looks pretty rough. Our room was very clean, with nice furniture, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was clean and the room was freshly painted. The linens on the bed weren't your usual hotel linens, they were colorful with prints. We slept well with the window open, there was not a lot of noise in the building or outside. I gotta say for the money, it was a great place to stay. Perfect example of "Don't judge a book by its cover."

It is a motel, but the bed was really comfortable, more on the softer side, coffee at the front desk. We stayed at the back side of the motel, upstairs so no Hwy.101 noise, . We would stay there again. We are all about saving money when we travel so that is why the motels stays. Surprising they are decent places to stay. This place had a Flat screen TV, Small fridge and microwave and wifi..

This is just your basic motel. I needed a cheap place for less than 24hrs and this did the trick. Free internet, friendly customer service, and exceptionally clean. I would stay here again just for the fact that it was extremely clean!

Every summer, my family and I would come to the coast and stay here. It was cheap to rent two rooms, to fit my big family. I was surprised to get clean rooms; I didn't think they would clean the room thoroughly, but I saw them strip the sheets, take the trash out, and do the other chores that needed to clean. It was a decent place to stay for a big-sized family.

Did not get the service I paid for. I came here to sleep because I was going fishing in the morning and was given lower room 43 next to a trailer that someone was living in. They also had the room above us and must have been on drugs because they kept us up all night. They were yelling and pounding, dropping things, moving furniture, pacing, hammering, etc. from the time we arrived between 9-10 pm until 4 am. If I could rate this a negative experience I would.

Because of the Seafood and Wine Festival that takes place annually there are not many vacancies in town for the weekend that we stayed. The places that do have vacancies then jack up their rates sky-high knowing that those of us that work at the festival need a place to stay for 3 nights and do not have a choice in the matter. That is how my co-workers and I ended up at the Money Saver Motel. First, the name of the place is an oxymoron...we were charged $99 per room, per night for 3 nights...do the math. I don't think we saved any money! The weather was colder than usual, temps in the 30's. The tiny wall heater outside of the bathroom door could not heat up the room, we had it set as high as it could go...90 degrees and still froze our rear ends off! We all compared notes in the morning, no one slept well and we all froze. The bathroom in my room didn't have a towel rack, it was broken off the wall, you could see where the hole was patched with fix all but there was no replacement rack. The bathrooms are tile floors and tubs/showers, looks nice but made the room and floor ten times colder than it should have been. That would be OK except that the shower was lukewarm for about 60 seconds then was pure cold water! There was a note on the wall that said "warning, water temperature fluctuates" It should read, take a quick shower if you want any hot water otherwise forget about it sucker! The room has a mini fridge, microwave which is nice when you're traveling and working. The old style big TV sat on a chair at the end of the bed. Housekeeping was close to non-existent, our towels were replenished daily, the bed was sort of made, the sheets were never changed, floors never vacuumed but the worst offense in my opinion was THE TRASH WAS NEVER REMOVED THE ENTIRE THREE DAYS WE STAYED THERE!!! Had there been a trash bin outside somewhere I would have dumped it myself but there was no such bin available. Our final night we had noisy neighbors that kept 2 of our 3 rooms up half the night. When we were finally able to check out I spoke to the manager and told her that we were disappointed with the sub-standard rooms and the price that we paid. I asked if there was anything she would do considering we spent over $900 for this torture, she just shrugged her shoulders and said I can write down my address and phone number but didn't say anything would be done with it. As expected I have not received any contact from the motel and that was a week ago. If you're a college kid that wants to get wasted at the Wine Festival, crash at a flop house for the night and get out to nurse your hangover in the morning this is a fine place to stay. If you are working 3 long days at said festival and want a warm room to sleep in, a warm shower in the morning and even the slightest bit of cleaning done to your room each day, stay away from this place. I am mortified at what we paid and how we were treated. On the plus side, there is a great restaurant a few doors down, the Newport seafood and Steak house has friendly staff, great food, good prices and poured a good drink. Also there is a Dutch Bros coffee drive thru across the street and they have good coffee.

I saw this budget motel on Tripadvisor so went straight there when we got to Newport. The gentleman (TJ maybe?) at the desk was courteous and helpful. He showed us a room and talked about the area. He was helpful with directions.
The room was at the back so away from the busy highway noise at the front. The patterned pillowcases were just as we had read on Tripadvisor. The room was old but very clean. It was quiet and restful. It was possibly the cheapest motel I have stayed. Often the low priced motels sacrifice cleanliness. They do not.
We recommend this motel. It is possibly the best value throughout our Oregon trip.

The room was clean and staff was friendly but there were 3 big issues:
1. The back of the hotel faces a helicopter landing pad from the local hospital, so if there is an emergency, it's very noisy!
2. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
3. The walls were paper thin, so you could hear when your neighbors were having conversations, when they were taking a shower, etc.

I just stayed there the last two nights with my wife and we loved it! The rooms are average and lack the frills of the bigger hotels but you get what you pay for. The manager was friendly and the room was clean. I will be staying there again every couple of months. This is on of the few places of its age still in business but I like that. If you want all the modern comforts stay at a modern facility. I like a place where I can get a smoking room and bring along my dog so this is even better for me. If you want to stay at a nice friendly place and use the money you saved to enjoy the town of Newport give this place a shot.

So, it's not fancy, but is is clean, comfortable, quiet, and inexpensive. It was only $47!!!! Had cable and wifi and was a good location. The gentleman at the front desk was kind. I would highly recommend staying here if you like to travel but are on a budget. I would stay again.
