We stayed in unit 303 and loved it. The view of the harbor, bay, and bridge was beautiful, especially at sunset. There is a patio with chairs for enjoying the nice weather and listening to the sea lions. The unit is very clean, well-organized, and nicely decorated. Not only is there a king-sized bed, but there is also a sofa sleeper and two bathrooms so there is plenty of space for a few people to be comfortable. It is centrally located near several attractions, shops, and restaurants. If you prefer to eat in, the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. During our stay we walked along the bay front, visited the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and took a short drive to Depot Bay, just to name a few.

Fantastic place to stay! Very clean, comfortable, and family friendly. Vicky at the front desk was exceptionally nice. Made us feel right at home. There were 4 families: 9 adults and 10 children between 2 and 11 years of age. We went for a laid back family reunion and were very happy with the accommodations at the Landing. We loved that each family could stay in their own condo, but were so close to everyone else. Kitchens and bathrooms were well equipped, and the beds very comfortable. One of our rooms had a bunk bed. Lots of parking, spacious rooms, and a huge back deck with barbeque grills, tables and chairs. The kids loved playing tag on the deck after dinners, while the adults sat and visited with one another, enjoying the gorgeous sunsets. Newport is a small town: no traffic or crowds (we went at the end of June.) The seafood restaurants ranged from casual to high end, and were excellent. The kids loved clamming (you can buy licenses right next door), playing on Nye Beach, going to the Marine Science Center, the Lighthouse and tide pools. Wish we could have stayed a week instead of 4 days!

Had a great birthday weekend here.
The weather was pretty nice, so there was some decent views from our balcony.
Central to just about anywhere you want to go in Newport. Clean and plenty of room. Probably saved over 100 bucks being able to cook our own food. Lots of great restaurants nearby if you don't feel like cooking.

No AC is fine on the Oregon Coast because you can always open the windows right? Nope. Not here. Not on the Eastern end of the bulding where the smell of (garbage?) was a delicious cross between dead body and cat box. It was overwhelming. It was unbearable. So we suffered. $300 a night and our choice was to sweat or gag. Toilet was broken. Called front desk. Nothing happened.

We are very sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience staying with us. The lack of service with regards to the broken toilet will be brought to the attention of our general manager. Unfortunately, the dumpster at the east end of the building belongs to another business that refuses to move or more regularly service it, despite our numerous requests and complaints. We do deeply apologize that you suffered because of this situation. ~Front Desk Services

We only stayed one night, but got a lovely condo decorated with flamingos (!), comfortable furniture, well-appointed kitchen and huge bed. The view is awesome and its a short walk to the pier and a nice historic downtown area. Some units are pet friendly (we brought our dog) so that is a bonus for us. Note that they share a parking lot with another hotel, so parking in the LOT is limited, but if you have a vehicle under 7 feet, you can park underneath the building. In other words, don't bring your monster truck to this one.

This condo hotel is located right down from the pier where the seals are. I will say they are noisy all night but I guess that is part of the ambiance. We stayed for two nights and had a room with a complete kitchen. It was clean and comfortable. They wouldn’t let us check in before 4pm. We tried to check in at 2 as we had driven a long way. She said she would call us as soon as the room was ready but never did.

Paid, booked, and made reservations over a month ago. All of our paperwork and theirs showed our paid and booked reservation, however they made an error in their computer system. I flew in from michigan, then my friend and I drove over 4 hours to get here and were told "sorry" They acknowledged that the error was on their end but offered us nothing. "There is nothing we can do for you" we were told. So 2 women were left stranded in a city they've never been in on a fri at night with most hotels having no vacancy to fend for themselves. Worse than poor customer service. The desk child (couldn't have been older than 18) didn't know how to do or look up anything. Didn't know policy, or how to accommodate us. I would be hesitant to make a reservation here. In their business practices, it doesn't mean you actually are guaranteed a room that you paid for.

Dear Cindy, First, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience our mistake regarding your reservation caused you and your friend, as well as the seemingly dismissive attitude the front desk staff may have had regarding your circumstance. We have always worked hard to maintain the highest level of guest service, and you can be sure that this incident was an isolated case. Nonetheless, we appreciate your feedback. It has certainly helped us identify weak spots in the training of our front desk staff to handle uncommon situations such as this. Your comments will surely help us as we strive to provide the very best guest service to all of our future visitors.

We have stayed here quite a few times...and for the most part it has been a great place to stay. We brought our friends who were prego, for a weekend getaway. BUT this last time was a bad experience. The night manager was clueless when it came to helping us.

Our main complaints:
- Dirty room
- Dirty dishes
- No water outside to fill crab pots
- Dirty, stinky water in crab pots
- Crab pots not working
- Unprofessional Night Manager

We got fresh crab off the docs after a great day at the beach and in town, and as always we planned on cooking them in the crab pots outside. Nothing worked out there other than the BBQs. The manager lady was rude and argued with us about the water not working...and basically told us too bad! She accused us of breaking furniture outside by jumping the fence. She threatened to kick us out for that too! Then when she discovered they did not work and was not willing to turn them on, she told us to just wait and take them home to eat in a couple days. Her suggestion was to just throw the fresh, live crabs on the BBQ! We ended up having to walk to the Embarcadaro next door and using their crab pots. So after 3 hours of the run around the other hotel took care of us, and we were finally able to eat our crab dinner at 11pm.

The next morning we pleaded our case to the daytime manager...she gave us a slight discount on our stay and told us that we should contact the owner and promised that she would "make it right" by giving us a free weekend and a special treat to make up for it.

We have tried to get in contact with the owner and have never received a response. I am going to be bringing friends out again in a few weeks and will not be booking here! We'll be next door at the Embarcadaro...because they know how to treat customers and approach problems in a professional matter.

I will not spend my money here again...nor would I recommend anyone else to. Go next door, the price is comparable and they have much better facilities...that work! The staff was willing to give us a discounted room that night if we were to come stay with them...we would have, but it was just too late to move my gal and our pregnant guest!

If The Landing at Newport would have made an attempt to make this right, as promised then we would be all good...unfortunately that didn't happen. Not even a response!

Thank you for informing us about your stay at the end of 2013. We apologize for any inconvenience. Unfortunately the water lines had been turned off to the patio area (crab cookers) due to freezing weather in order to avoid damage. We appreciate that you are giving us another opportunity to serve your lodging needs.

We just returned from a wonderful two day get-away-from-the-heat trip to Newport, Oregon where we stayed at The Landing. We had no idea that they had nightly rentals as it's mainly advertised as a condo complex, but we were able to get a well furnished studio for $79 per night! The rates do go up a little if you are wanting to stay over a weekend. The room is beautifully decorated with slate floors, countertops and backsplash in the kitchen and bath, king size bed, small sofa and chair. There was also a gas fireplace and TV. The BEST feature was the three large windows across the front of the room that looked directly onto the marina and bay. That best feature also turned out to be a minor problem early in the mornings when the fishing boats were being readied for the day. We like to leave all of our windows open, so there was quite a bit of noise around 4:30-5:00am, but we took it in stride as the whole experience of daily life on the bay was fascinating. The only problem with the studio was the adjoining door was so thin, you could hear the conversations of the people in the next condo even when they were speaking in very quiet voices. Considering these condos were for sale for over $150,000 for a studio, that was very surprising but like the above mentioned morning noise, all was taken in stride as the overall experience at The Landing was wonderful! The front desk staff couldn't have been more friendly and we will definately be staying here again in the future. Photos of the view from the studio will be included. Enjoy!

Stayed this month and encountered a bad attitude from all staff. The position is perfect right on the marina but the rooms are dated, smelly and dull- in contrast to the surrounding beauty.
The young woman on the desk was dismissive and rude from the moment you entered.
Such a contrast to the open, friendly and helpful people all over the pacific north west.

Certainly rooms are wheelchair accessible due to the elevator from the garage to all three level floors, however I don't know if one or more units are ADA compliant. I would guess yes, but I'd also give them a call.
