We have stayed at The Whaler many times over the last twenty years and have always found the rooms clean, the employees friendly, and one of the best views available on the coast. We have without hesitation recommended our friends and family to stay at...More
We spent two nights in late December. I think we were only one of a handful of rooms in the entire hotel. The staff was attentive, the room was clean and simple, the internet connection was great, and for that third floor view and what...More

No we were not able to hear the ocean from the room. Access to the beach is not difficult. This hotel is not directly on the beach, but just across the road from the beach. Cross the street and there is a walkway; it is paved with hand rails and benches to sit down along the way, but it is steep. The ocean is a pretty good walk through the sand, maybe 150 yards, so that may be more challenging to get to the water. Hope this is helpful.
