Detailed Reviews
The Ocean House has been our go-to getaway for years. The rooms are beautifully furnished (we love Windswept and Sandcastle), totally comfortable (comfy chairs, fireplace, jacuzzi tub!!), so quiet and relaxing. The breakfasts have always been a treat. This weekend, we had tomato basil quiche and creme brûlée French toast. Craig and Dawn are warm and friendly, always ready to welcome you and offer suggestions of things to do and places to eat. The property has been continuously upgraded over the years and we have enjoyed the elegant touches throughout, including the luxurious linens, beautiful fixtures, in-room music system, and gorgeous sitting room with a view of the beach. I have been known to avail myself of the complementary glass of wine and delicious cookies offered daily. We go to relax and always have a great time. Thank you, Craig and Dawn. We so appreciate our home away from home

Stayed in the sea rose room. It was magical spending a rainy 2 nights in this room. We spent our time in the sun room/atrium reading, watching birds and the tide come in/out. At night we would move to the sofa in front of the warm gas fireplace and play games. Breakfast is served in a group setting, well-spaced. But they had no problem with us taking our delicious breakfast to the room. They use air purifiers throughout the building and was one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed. They were extremely hospitable. We even saw a rainbow over the beach on our last morning. Perfection. Hope to come back soon!

We booked 3 nights at this very beautiful escape! From the moment you arrive the adventure begins being welcomed by Inn Keeper Nancy. She makes you totally feel at home with her welcoming smile and opens Ocean House to all. From fresh brewed coffee, a gourmet breakfast is provided by Chef Misty! A little afternoon snack is provided and a gathering in the evening for socializing with other guests and wine tasting. We were on the second floor and never heard any noise! The rooms are beautiful with exceptional linens on bed, Jacuzzi tub and a set of comfortable chairs to gaze at the beautiful Newport Harbor and beach area. An easy walk to a fire pit lookout of this beach. There is also easy access to the beach. We will defiantly return to this peaceful retreat! Thank you to the entire staff of Ocean House!

We spent the weekend with sweet and sincere owners Craig and Dawn at the amazing Ocean House Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Windswept room with a great view of the ocean and gardens. The room was recently renovated with new furnishings and a luxurious bathroom. The bed and sheets....I want to get a set for my home!
The breakfast in the morning was eggs benedict with perfectly poached eggs (3 minutes as per Craig, perfectly whites with a runny yoke), orange juice, fresh fruit, and a decadent banana/cream dish. We then followed that with a great conversation with the owners as they explained their history with the amazing house, furnishings, and all the love they have put into renovating their bed and breakfast over the last 8 years. It is clearly a passion for them both and it comes through both in the character of the home as well as the hospitality they provide.
My wife and I then toured the grounds and walked down to the beach. The grounds are lovely with quick beach access and amazing views over the bay. If you are looking for a taste of northwest hospitality with amazing sea views and great rooms, this place is for you.

This was our first venture away from home since the coronavirus struck. Naturally, we were a bit apprehensive. However, Dawn and Craig at Ocean House did a great job making us feel comfortable and safe! They both apparently have medical backgrounds, which probably helped, but they reopened their beautiful B&B "by the book" i.e., appropriate social distancing, handling of food and coffee, rooms, etc. Well done!
We rented the cottage to give us a little more distance from other guests, but I'm not sure that was necessary. We never really felt at risk. The cottage is great! Lovely room, windows open to the ocean breeze. The room also has a microwave and a fridge!
Cookies are provided upon arrival (yum)! Wine is served from 4-6 pm.
We actually went to two restaurants while staying at Ocean House. One was Nana's Irish Pub. The fish and chips were so good! I also had a Guiness and a Jameson Stout Edition (and was very happy with the pour they gave me!). The other was Georgie's. I had the stuffed salmon, my wife had the fettuccine. They were both excellent!
The beach was almost empty! In fact all the beaches we went to were nearly empty! But that's kind of normal for Oregon, we feel, and we're not complaining! You do have to walk down some steps to get to the beach, but the trip is worth it.
We will definitely be back someday!

We went to enjoy my birthday and just relax. Our room "Sea Rose" had a sunroom attached that looks out to the ocean. It was raining when we arrived and it was so peaceful and pretty watching the rain fall. The rest of our stay was sunny weather and we enjoyed some site seeing, and a most delicious Clam Chowder from the "Chowder Bowl"at Nye beach.
Dawn's breakfasts were magnificent. We had breakfast in our room while there and enjoying it in the sunroom was amazing. This is well worth the trip to Newport and we can't wait to go again.

Check-in was a breeze, we were greeted by the friendly staff and before we knew showed us to our room. Our room was the honeymoon suite which had the best view overlooking the property grounds and the beach. I was able to set up my tripod and camera on the balcony for an early morning dreamy shot. The bedroom had a huge bed, was clean and stylish and the bathroom was amazing and had multiple shower heads and a two person jacuzzi.
The property grounds were well maintained and had several seating areas where we could sit and take in the views of nature and the waves crashing below. The hotel is right next to several private homes, but it still had that resort/retreat feel.
Our reservations included breakfast which was freshly made for us. The chef made sure she knew if we had any allergies prior to delivering our food to our table. The breakfast was exceptional. An open fridge and pantry was well stocked with variety of free drinks and popcorn. A dish of delicious homemade cookies, also made by the chef, were available to us during the day.
Overall our stay was very relaxing and peaceful. We felt very well taken care of with a wonderful staff, excellent food and serene surroundings made our visit memorable.

We used Ocean House as our base to explore the Oregon coast and it did not disappoint, Location was everything. 80 steps down to Agate Beach and, if you don’t wish to make the trek, the B&B provides several outdoor seating areas to enjoy the view. We stayed in the Far East room which was very spacious with a sitting area with limited view of beach to enjoy the provided breakfast or a glass of wine. The bathroom was also quite large. The included breakfast was wonderful and they accommodated my husband’s gluten free diet. Nancy and her staff were helpful and provided great recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.

This B&B is under new management, and we were impressed with the new host/manager. She took good care of us, chatting enough but not too much! The house is very clean and Covid-19 standards are clearly met, which was important for us. One of the breakfasts was really outstanding, and providing afternoon muffins or cookies is a nice touch (all individually wrapped).

As soon as we walked into Ocean House we knew we made the right decision to stay there. Mary, the manager, was friendly and made us feel welcome. She gave us a brief tour and couldn't have been more helpful. Ocean House is not your typical B&B. It is a lovely large home, decorated with calming colors - nice beach vibes in a very cool understated way. We stayed for 3 nights in the Sandcastle room. So soothing and comfy! Very clean, neat, and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the music that's piped in as well. Outside, the property itself has a number of nooks and private spaces to just sit and enjoy the view. Having access to the beach area was a definite plus. We did not request that our room be serviced while we were there, but we did ask for fresh towels - a large basket filled with towels and toiletries was left by our door promptly. The breakfasts were delicious! Our only suggestion would be to provide options other than egg dishes for people staying more than a few nights. The refreshments available all day were also very much enjoyed! After exploring Newport and the area, we were so happy to return to Ocean House and relax afterwards. We highly recommend Ocean House and hope to return regularly. Our stay there couldn't have been nicer!

Thank you for the question, yes in every room our windows open to enjoy the breeze and sounds of the ocean,
You must be thinking of Pacific Breeze, our little diamond in the rough. Smaller room will big views. Let us know if you have any other questions. We would be happy to help you with any booking.
I believe you are thinking of the 2000 add on. That includes Far East and Cottage. In 2011 we built a new deck on the beach overlook; 2013 we heavily remodeled our Kitchen and Dining Room and floors. Now in 2014, Windswept is getting an upgrade which includes carpet throughout the Inn.
Our driveway and parking area have always been Chattahoochee concrete and finished concrete.
