I recently spent a week at the Hotel Monaco for a work trip. I was insanely impressed with the hotel and it started from the moment I checked in. Everyone was genuinely nice and efficient. My room was huge (I stayed in the 2 queen suite) and spectacularly clean. The beds were comfortable and my room was quiet. There's a restaurant and bar that's attached to the hotel, and it's really not bad! They even have vegan options for all meals, which is WONDERFUL! I was actually able to eat while traveling! The hotel also offers nightly social hours from 5-6pm where they pour free glasses of local wines and beers. It was casual and lovely - a lot of guests (and their dogs!!) would come down and mingle, and it was honestly very nice! This was the first time in a long time, that when my long trip was over, I kind of didn't want to go home. It was a great stay! As a side note, the hotel is also located perfectly. It's about a block away from the train that takes you straight two and from the airport. It's by a ton of bars and restaurants, Powell books, and Voodoo doughnuts. And don't forget....no sales tax!!
We have loved Kimpton‘s for years and were surprised to see them a part of IHC...but the quality remains the same. Wonderful boutique hotel. Excellent location. The Staff were FANTASTIC, and the staff make the visit. From parking assistance, to checking in, to room service and recommendations - superb. Great location, short walk to Voodoo and Powell’s and Killer Burgers. Some folks have complained about the train noise, whether because we were a higher floor, or whether because the noises were just city noises - not a bother at all. Only off note, the bed was a softer bed then our older bodies accustomed to and we were a bit stiff by the end of the week - a minor note. Would stay here again.
Stayed at this hotel and found the rooms to be very roomy for an historic hotel. The hotel staff were very accommodating and receptive to to our needs. The restaurant was good. The hotel has a social hour and nightcap for its guests.
This is a very nice property in a central location. Rooms are quiet, and very up to date. Short walk to light rail system, and very walkable to most downtown locations. Highly recommended for an in-city hotel.
