My school aged child and I stayed two nights during the week. I chose this hotel mainly for the pool (which we used only once as it was pretty cold and for some reason zero pool towels). Please don’t make the no pool towels a covid thing because you clearly can give me bath towels in my room. My message to corporate: This hotel is old. It needs a very deep cleaning everywhere. A renovation is needed actually. Old can be quaint but this was just very tired. When travel picks up, people will choose other hotels. You made lots of money pre-covid. Maybe invest some now in your property and people. My message to the hotel staff: You are all beyond lovely! It’s no wonder you were chosen to carry-on when other employees were let go due to low occupancy. Nur is a superstar! Niko, in security was so kind to help us when we arrived late on the first night and got stuck in the hotel’s parking (at the nearby Hilton property which is currently closed with windows all boarded up.) We did not ask for anything from housekeeping but when I saw the maid by her cart, I asked for a few extra items. She was very nice! Good news: Food delivery people seem to know the location of this hotel. Good luck finding a garbage can on your floor to toss your leftovers though. I had to go all the way to the lobby searching for one. It was my courtesy to do that instead of leaving it in the hallway. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve stayed in other 4-5 star hotels in Portland (some for less money and some for more). This hotel ranks low for me. For anyone interested, it’s now Crabtree & Evelyn mini toiletries. …
The entire staff at Duniway is incredibly friendly and provided outstanding customer service! We had such a wonderful stay and the staff made sure our 6-year-old birthday boy received a memorable gift too! This was our third time staying at Duniway, and this is definitely our favorite hotel in Portland! We cannot wait to return next time. Thank you so much!!!
This is my second time visiting this location. The manager Nur was so kind and accommodating. Top notch service, The first time I visited there was a slight incident and it was rectified immediately. It’s a very clean and well ran hotel. I was greeted with suggestions on possible breakfast options to take my son. It is such a great hotel I plan on coming back each of my visits down. What a gem you have in your management. As a manager also of a business specializing in customer service it is such a delight to meet kind, helpful people.
Payment was a disaster and got charged 4 times!!! When trying to resolve the issue, staff was rude and had attitude with me. Got the wrong room (we needed a 2 queen suite and received a 1 queen suite). The parking garage is unsafe. Our friends car got broken into and no one tried to do anything about it. Very disappointed.
Be careful on what they charge you for. No water or coffee makers in room. Want to charge you $4 for a small bottle of water. We paid for parking and then they were going to charge us for parking since we parked in the building’s hotel parking instead of the “free hotel parking” two blocks away in another building. No cleaning service, they just restocked towels. 1 of the elevators is down chasing a line of 10-30 minutes every time to go up or down.
